TEN: The Archive Series, Pt. 6

Dynan

Blue and Green is the combined production efforts of Josh Thompson AKA Bareskin and J. Wiltshire.  The two young producers both have history with Hypercolour; Wiltshire having recently dropped his ‘False Awakening’ single on the label, and Bareskin having contributed to both Hypercolour and Losing Suki imprints in the past.

Emotive territory is plundered on ‘The Wait’, a breakbeat flecked and pacey production that blends introspective vocals, dark guitar melodies and distorted bottom end with refreshing results.

Alan Fitzpatrick, picks up the mantle on the first of two remixes on this
single.  The Drumcode regular has been firing on all cylinders these last 12 months, with class remixes for Trus’me and dubspeeka and releases for Hotflush, Figure, Cocoon and Adam Beyer’s aforementioned Drumcode label. Fitzpatrick strips back the vocal and creates a peak time rolling Dub Mix in his own solid and inimitable style.

A second remix comes courtesy of techno psychonaut, A Sagittariun.  The Elastic Dreams boss follows up singles on HypeLTD and Secretsundaze and remixes for Permanent Vacation and Futureboogie with a distinctively warm and telepathically charged “Re-Dream”.

The third edition in Senso Sounds' very own Kontakt series features a collaboration between Teenage Mutants and Frankyeffe. Teenage Mutants, the Germany based duo who have been releasing techno-inspired dance music on the likes of Terminal M, Noir und Stil vor Talent, team up with the Italian producer Frankyeffe for this release on Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds. The track they cooked up together is called Run - a brooding, growling techno monster that slowly builds and builds, finding new layers of groove and drama through precision percussions and lazer sharp synth lines. We are also treated to a remix from label regular André Winter and Lilly Palmer, who team up to twist new levels of drive and grit out of the original. It’s hard-as nails, muscular stuff sure to set off the party at peak time.

Teenage Mutants & Frankyeffe - Run

Following a run of solo releases already this year, Juliet Fox & Made in Paris come together to collaborate on a unique, melodic techno composition ‘Glad I Met You’. The pulsing bass line and growling underlining synth drives the late night track, with it’s hypnotic arpeggiator and Juliet’s vocal used as a captivating melody. 

These two Australian born and raised producers represent the track title’s true meaning, and with shows and touring life on pause for the time being, it comes at a time to really reflect.
