Clarence Rise is a French deep techno producer and DJ, whose sometimes dark but always introspective music draws on his deep connection with nature and the twists and turns of the psyche. His compositions combine complex rhythmics with organic sound design, diving listeners in hypnotic, immersive soundscapes. He creates textured, crackling, sometimes syncopated techno, while also exploring the depths of Deep DnB and Tribal sounds. His work is a constant quest for raw emotion and subtle intensity, offering experiences both mysterious and captivating, shaped to resonate as much in clubs as in the intimacy of personal listening.

It’s back to the strange, mind-expanding world of Zenaari with an episode from Moroccan techno master Chami. Leaving his homeland for France was an epiphany, Lyon the place where his passion for beats kicked-off. Since then, he’s relocated to Berlin and become synonymous with a clean, rhythmic and mentally-focused sound played exclusively on vinyl. It’s raw and unforgiving techno primed for body and soul, Berlin to the letter and a constant dialogue with the city’s ever-changing zeitgeist. Foregrounding burgeoning talents through his and Olivia Mendez’s DIG Curated, playing as half of Face 2 Face with DJ peer OPH, and key figure in Berlin-based collective Minijob (whose calling is in organising underground raves in and around the city), Chami’s plate is more than full. But it’s passion for sound that drives him, visceral basslines his bread and butter. Breaking with the expected, there’s a further facet to his sound, one that occupies the focus of this next Zenaari number: jazz. Not quite as far as it might superficially seem, Chami’s feeling for rhythm and knack for progressively stacked up moods translates flawlessly, but if it helps there’s a few warped percussions to move things along. This is an expert fusion of his musical universe, a Podcast that probes the possibilities offered by the superimposition of these two sonic languages and develops something new in response. Two sides of a coin: Chami’s slamming beats and soothing jazz are a window onto the spectrum of his talents, 68 minutes of compelling sounds from a Berlin mainstay.

Zenaari Mix 020 - Chami

December introduces GAEL, a DJ, producer and composer from Dagestan, raised in Ukraine and now based in Berlin.

Working along the outer edges of techno and experimental electronics, GAEL shapes sound with a sharp sense for texture, contrast and form. Their releases span BITE, Flash Recordings and Standard Deviation, and their performances have taken them to Berghain, Tresor, RSO, Nuits Sonores, and the Opera Forward Festival, where they reinterpreted a classical piece in collaboration with Dekmantel and Dutch Opera.

Their mix for Relictronica reflects this identity in motion: intense, precise and constantly evolving, a sound that carries both force and sensitivity without needing to explain itself.

Denise Rabe is a Berlin based DJ and producer. A true veteran selector, Rabe has commanded the booths of the most respected institutions, including Berghain, Tresor and De School, cementing her reputation as an artist who creates worlds rather than just mixing tracks. Her studio output possesses an intoxicating depth and precision, with releases on the likes of Stroboscopic Artefacts, her own Rabe imprint and 30D Records, including her very recently released outstanding debut album ‘Transition’ - a complex, high-fidelity deep space odyssey - essential listening. 

For this session, Rabe orchestrates a sonic narrative that exists in the liminal space between contrasting forces, effortlessly balancing the realm between darkness and light, melancholy and euphoria. Cititrax is thrilled to present a full length LP entitled Adieux Au Dancefloor by Montreal based recording artist, Marie Davidson. Marie Davidson has emerged as one of the foremost electronic artists working in contemporary pop today. As a long-time member of Essaie Pas (DFA Records), Davidson has had the opportunity to hone her many talents. She has been participating in the city’s vibrant experimental community for much of her adult life. However, in 2012 she began to unveil compositions under her own name, revealing a solo artist who possessed the combined confidence and vulnerability required to write, produce and perform unaccompanied. Davidson’s intimate solo work is embodied through a host of synthesizers, sequencers and drum machines which coalesce in synchronized harmony, punctuated by vocals, half sung, half spoken in both French and English. She masterfully shapes the overall mood, themes, emotion, expression and intensity of her work, which gives the final result a distinctive, cinematic quality. 
With Adieux Au Dancefloor, Marie makes a slight departure from her last two releases, via Holodeck (2015) and Weyrd Son (2014), by creating her first fully dancefloor oriented piece of work. Through the 45 minutes of music that comprises the album, she experiments with pop structures, defines her voice, and layers rhythms to make complex and beautiful techno tracks. She closes the album with the title track in classic Chanson style.
Adieux Au Dancefloor will be released on October 6th. The record will be pressed on 160 gram white vinyl and will feature photographs by the equally talented Corinne Schiavone. The record will be housed in a full color printed heavyweight jacket along with matching printed inner sleeve. Pre-order available now. Digital release to follow.

It all started in 2007 with her beloved Projekt Electricdress which was organizing workshops at Spartacus Potsdam and where she immersed herself in the world of electronic beats, organizing parties, and representing a small club collective. This started her on her way in a developing scene with intense exchange between Leipzig and Berlin. 

In 2008 she decided to move to Berlin. Since then she has been working for ://about blank permanently – her "living room" as she calls it – and influenced by labels like Sandwell District or Prologue and the dark and echoing Techno-sound of this time, she started DJing. Today she passionately conjures the events named Ghosts and Zeroize and when she's not playing at ://about blank you can find Silva DJing in other clubs spinning her deep and dubby techno-records and having fun.
