In 1995 simple tracker software got the interest of the two friends Daniel and Ricardo. Thus, they decided to produce a few tracks.
Both shared a common passion for all sorts of different musical styles, which made their early productions very diverse.
Through the many influences of artists from New Order and Depeche Mode to Massive Attack, The Prodigy, Moby and the various techno disciples
of this multi-faceted time, the two of them produced everything they enjoy, be it trip hop, electronica, breaks or techno.

However, in 1999 the two of them went separate ways for reasons of diverging careers.
They quickly lost touch to each other until the contact ceased completely. Yet, the two of them still wished to produce music.
This is why both of them kept working with synthesizers, music software and studio technology creating their own tracks.

In 2003, it was coincidence that brought them back together.
The two friends met again at a small local electro party and soon realised that they still shared the same interest for electronic music as they had four years earlier.
After a few sessions in their domestic living room studios they decided to make more of their hobby and, thus, started renting their first studio in 2005.
Microtrauma was born.

In 2007, Microtrauma had its first release “Wake up“ on the Elected Tunes label. Their first own release “Collar EP” soon was to follow.
Microtrauma has developed its own style from almost ten years of working and tinkering as well as its many influences: melodic, dark, technoid and minimal.

Her work spans from working with companies such as Google SF, Netflix and Porsche Digital to empower their teams with breathwork masterclasses and meditation, to private coaching to facilitating experiences with several thousand participants.

When Claudine and Chook first started discussing a common musical project in the winter of 2010, they came from completely different worlds. He had discovered DJ-ing as a teenager and soon made a name for himself not only as a turntable artist, but also as a drum&amp;bass producer; she was a singer-songwriter touring with a folk-rock band and had an admiration for the likes of Tom Waits, Van Morrison and Joni Mitchell. She loves acoustic instruments, the touch of fingers on strings or wood; he can spend hours in the studio tweaking a sound until it is just the one he’s been looking for, building up a tune that speaks for itself and is in no need of words.
Neither one of them knew anything about the other one's musical roots and influences. Yet, after having built successful careers in their respective fields, they were eager to take on a new musical challenge and search for common ground. The result of this collaboration is Monophona, a blend of two extremes, electronic and intimate, melodic and innovative.
On stage, the line-up is completed by percussionist Jorsch, equally at home in both musical worlds. He adds detail and dynamics to their live-set.
Since their first gig in the summer of 2011, they have managed to establish themselves among the local scene, earning the chance to open for acts such as Rodrigo y Gabriela, Elektro Guzzi and Nostalgia77. They were even able to step outside the borders of their native Luxembourg, being chosen as their country's representatives for the Printemps de Bourges contest and for the Midem in Cannes.
