Luigi Tozzi Vinyl Session December 2014

Born and educated in Rome, the young Italian producer  Luigi Tozzi  was strongly influenced by the roman scene and its local artists, many of whom gave a crucial contribution to the birth and growth of the deep techno sound. Luigi’s music has so far been released on the established label  Dynamic Reflection  as well as setting a regular cooperation with the very promising and mysterious techno label  Hypnus Records  from Sweden, where he found a platform that inspired him to develop his style. Melting the tribal and hypnotic elements of techno with the atmospheric and emotional side of ambient music he is making his own path in the world of electronics. Recently this has gotten him in contact with  Dino Sabatini  which led to the opportunity to join  Outis Music  that has released well known artists such as  Modern Heads ,  Brando Lupi ,  Donato Dozzy  among others.

The 12th chapter with Luigi Tozzi

Born and educated in Rome, the young Italian producer Luigi Tozzi was strongly influenced by the roman scene and its local artists, many of whom gave a crucial contribution to the birth and growth of the deep techno sound.
Luigi’s music has so far been released on the established label Dynamic Reflection as well as setting a regular cooperation with the very promising and mysterious techno label Hypnus Records from Sweden, where he found a platform that inspired him to develop his style. Melting the tribal and hypnotic elements of techno with the atmospheric and emotional side of ambient music he is making his own path in the world of electronics.
Recently this has gotten him in contact with Dino Sabatini which led to the opportunity to join Outis Music that has released well known artists such as Modern Heads, Brando Lupi, Donato Dozzy among others.
Besides attracting the interest of Dino, his music has also caught the ears of other great artists such as Claudio PRC, Edit Select and Deepbass who all will be remixing his music later this year.

A Dj/producer from Okinawa, Japan. Now based Berlin. Iori’s musical career started up in Naha, Okinawa in the late 90′s. He went to New York in 2003, and later on headed back to Japan. Taking Okinawa as center, Iori is famed in both Japan and stages around the world at the present. As deeply influenced by True Deep house, Manuel Gottsching, Moritz Von Oswald, and Basic Channel, Iori does not only present sets ranging from House to Techno but is also proficient in alternative deep sets. 
Characterised by the heavy and bouncy rhythms , grand atmospheric synth layers, He has already established his unique sound in the European techno / house circuit.

His past release have fancied by international DJs such as Cio D'or, Kirk Degiorgio , Nick Hoppner , Mike Parker , Sigha , Levon Vincent, and enthusiastically supported by many domestic underground Djs Like DJ NOBU

At moments particles reach your gaze but fade away 
and become engulfed in an over powering and sedative blackness.

After a quite period I intend to kick things off again with a series of posts to keep the ears warm during the winter period. Starting off with an awesome mix from Kris Dubinsky. The Swede caught my attention a little while ago with some very finely tuned and well crafted mixes full of warmth and ambiance and were really enjoyable to listen to.  He seems to carry this warmth and texture through most of his work including some excellent productions. I recommend you check him out, starting with this nicely tripped out mix.

I came across Alfredo Mazzilli through the AOS podcast a little while back and I went to check out more of his well crafted productions. He seems to have developed his own sound and is currently busy with some heavyweight record labels like Edit Select and Planet Rhythm.  It turns out he had already made contact with me to contribute to the podcast, so im really happy that he wants to join The Print series. His mix is very warm, energetic and has all the ingredients to make it a solid favourite. Watch out for this guy in the future.

TF #081: Yuka [Fullpanda Records I Semantica] - Moscow

Yuka is a female DJ now based in Moscow (where she has lived since 1998), but who began her career in distant Bratsk, Siberia. The town - a local industrial center - is probably more famous for what it dumps than what it makes; in the recent past it was listed as one of the thirty most polluted cities in the world. It wouldn't take much persuasion for someone to move on... Yuka's preparation for a shift to the capital's nightclubs was lengthy, however, since music had played an important role in her life since the age of 6.

Over time, her passions moved in the direction of painting, sculpture, and design - activities she continues to this day. That initial school-day enthusiasm at the piano would eventually win out, though, and dictate her choice of higher education. Her musical training thus led to a degree from the Irkutsk Arts Institute, whee she no doubt studied under her real name, Irina Solobutova.

Now that she's fully ensconced in Moscow, her music appears regularly through the outlets of four labels: Fullpanda, Semantica, Silent Season, Pro-Tez. She is a resident of Fullpanda label parties named ALL YOU NEED IS EARS.

"All musicians can be compared to bird-catchers, especially those hunters who'd go looking for songbirds. Some of them would search for a particular type: a nightingale or a lark, perhaps. Others, conversely, would hunt nothing but exotic birds. Once they were caught, the birds would be kept in cages made from sheet music or boxes cut from concert programmes." Yuka.

Fairy Cocktail Recipe

1/2 oz amaretto almond liqueur
1/2 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
1/2 oz Southern Comfort® peach liqueur
1/2 oz Midori® melon liqueur
1/2 oz cherry brandy
fill with 1/2 sweet and sour mix
fill with 1/2 cranberry juice
1 splash grenadine syrup
150 mcg lysergic acid diethylamide

Pour ingredients into a Collins glass filled with ice.
Do not mix the triplet absolutely.
