Inspired by a true story, the song reflects the journey of a Japanese art student who left Tokyo—and her college boyfriend behind—to pursue a dream of studying painting in Paris.
Despite maintaining a long-distance relationship, rumors of infidelity surfaced during her second year abroad. As she prepared to say goodbye through a letter, he appeared in Paris, waiting for her on the Pont Neuf, where they had once sealed their love with a lock during their university days.
They met one last time.
He begged for forgiveness, but she—young and wounded—could not offer it.
