From the early 90′s heyday of Toronto’s techno scene through to his current constant touring as a band member and Ableton programmer for Nelly Furtado, Frank Ocean and more recently Broken Bells, Jason “DJ Shine” Spanu has delivered a brilliant history as a key player in the Canadian electronic music scene. As an Ableton Certified Trainer he offers wisdom and advice as a consultant to many other bands across the musical spectrum. With numerous singles, remixes, and compilation appearances under his belt, DJ Shine has made his reputation well known among some of the world’s top producers and artists. His performances as a live PA/DJ combination have rocked dance floors at huge events all over the world. I have told myself that over and over through my life and I plan to work hard and give it my best. I am excited to be apart of such an elite group and I look forward to working with the professionals that keep music moving forward. 

My name is Michael “MYK” Roberts and I was born in Chicago, IL. I was the youngest of my brothers and sister, and at the age of five I started piano lessons.  After some great theory and jam sessions, I started playing the drums for my uncle’s church (Church on then Rock Chicago, IL). Growing up with five brothers and one sister, my house was never quite.

I attended Christian Community Academy Chicago, IL from my younger educational days, until the 6th grade, where I than attended Lincoln Elementary / Junior High School Dolton, IL. After graduating to Thornridge High School, I than became a young prodigy of my musical field.  (GO Falcons) Participating in my High School Marching, Jazz, Concert, Pit, and Symphonic band for four years straight and All-State in percussion for four years and All-American for two years. With the training and education from Mr. Eanes and my peers, I was able to audition for the United States Marine Corps Band and passed with flying colors. 

After attending the Armed Forces School of Music NAB Norfolk, I provided services such as Marine Bandsman, Motor Transport Chief, 1st Degree Black Belt Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor, and Marine Recruiter, to say the least. As an Operation Iraqi Freedom / Operation Enduring Freedom Veteran, I am privileged to be born and home with family and friends, after enduring over a decade of faithful service to my country.  While traveling to different countries, I was blessed with the ability to fully understand different types of cultural music. 

I started as a musician and picked up on digital recording during the year of 2001.  Inspired by my farther, I began to work with Fruity Loops and Reasons.  After looking into attending Full Sail back in 2005, I had to wait until my military contract was up in order to attend Full Time.  But, it worked out like destiny when they offered Music Production Online.  In 2012, I was introduced to Garage Band, Main Stage, Logic Pro, Sibelius, and Pro Tools.  So, I would have to say my skills are being formed as I go through my journey as a humble student here at Full Sail University. 

Right now I am a current student at Full Sail University finishing my journey to success as a musical innovator. I would love nothing more than to surround myself with like-minded individuals who share similar purposes.  I really hope everyone enjoys what I listen to here on this page. I have a wealth of musical talent and as I become a civilian once again I am reminded how my life was inside the toughest military in the world. My musical talent has very emotional feelings in it and projects a sense of passion in one of many things nobody can take from you. Music!

The Crossclub is a uniquely designed multicultural centre which houses a real crossroads of cultures and a variety of styles and genres in the centre of Prague Holešovice. For many years, the Crossclub has been an integral part of the Prague cultural scene, respected not only in the Czech Republic, but also abroad. Its fascinating futuristic design, with many unusual artefacts, has given the club its unique identity.

The Crossclub´s space offers a wide range of possibilities. Music dramaturgy is focused on unconventional music genres, both, in live and electronic form. The Crossclub features high-quality groups and artists from Czech as well as from abroad, ranging from dubstep to hardcore. Besides musical dramaturgy, another essential component of Cross is the presentation of cross-genre alternative culture, focusing on young theatre companies, authors´ reading their works, travelling gabfests, screenings of alternative films as well as current cinema, education through documentary films and discussions, and last but not least the afternoon theatre performances for children: all of them for minimum entrance fees or completely free.

In 2009, we also opened Cross café featuring a rare yet very natural kind of elegance in all respects. I love writing music. Even though I wrote a bit in my late teens, I lost my way over the years. Then, after learning guitar for a college class 2 years ago, the sleepy songwriter has awoken once again.

I'm a folk gal. Love it. Harry Chapin is my long time influence and Ray LaMontagne's music is my current love. I know that if ever I reach the ability of crafting a song that is even 1/4 that of their incredible talent, I will have written an awesome song.

I hope that my songs may touch you. May find a way to express and voice how you feel. That they may give you an outlet or maybe just transport you to a place where you need to be at that moment:-)

I write these songs to connect with you even though I may never know your name or shake your hand. Know that I appreciate your support, but mostly I hope that in this incredibly screwed up world, we can all still be connected through music!

PS With the exception of a couple done at a friend's studio, my recordings are home ones with crappy equipment and I am forced to try to play the entire song straight through. This equals very sore fingertips and a hoarse voice once accomplished. 

I'm not looking to get famous...just want to write. It is my outlet and I finally feel truly alive again. I hope everyone gets as much pleasure out of recording their music as I do. Rock on!!!! Peace and love;-)

Schizopolitans' Soundcloud consists only of improvised experiments recorded in real time during the rehearsal process. These pieces illustrate what Schizopolitans do in search of new material. Typically, they are just for the band to listen to. Not intended for "people."

Since initiated in 2004 by perfomance artist/drummer Xtevion, Schizopolitans have been Reno, Nevada's premier Avant-Rock combo. Described as "hard ambient" in the Past, Schizopolitans create a dense aural landscape that is  often epic in scope. The material feels like short film soundtracks that transport the listener into unknown territories. Schizopolitans make movies in your mind.
