Founded upon owner Brian Slagel's enduring drive to find great bands and get their music out to as many people as possible, since 1982 Metal Blade has brought wave after wave of powerful, innovative, and often genre-defining music to the ever-hungry metal masses. It is this ethos that has seen Metal Blade build up a stunning and diverse catalogue, weather the various storms facing any independent label, and in an age of declining record sales boast the most successful years of its existence as it strides into its fourth decade.

What perhaps makes this achievement all the more notable is the fact that Slagel never even intended to start a label. Working in an LA record store and writing for various publications, Slagel was acutely aware that many great bands in the local metal scene were being ignored, and he decided to release a compilation of tracks drawn from these ranks. "There were a lot of really good bands and I was just bummed out that nobody could hear them. It just seemed like I could help them out and have some fun at the same time, and that compilation was the first Metal Massacre," he states. Collating tracks from then unknown bands including Ratt, Bitch, Cirith Ungol, and Metallica amongst others, the compilation sold out immediately. "How important is Metal Blade to our career? They're only the reason we are enjoying the worldwide success we have today," states Metallica's James Hetfield. "Without Brian's openness to some raunchy teens with a crap sounding cassette tape we would be who knows where, and playing who knows what!" With the popularity of the tape spurring Slagel on, the first seeds of Metal Blade were sown. "After the success of those compilations I just started putting out records of bands that I was friends with, but without ever really intending it to be a label at all," he explains. "After I put out four or five releases I started to feel like something was happening, and I decided to quit the record store and quit college and see where it went."

Battling through the first few lean years, when the label consisted solely of Slagel working out of his mom's poorly ventilated garage in the San Fernando Valley, it gradually grew in both revenue and stature. Within a few years Metal Blade would go on to release the debuts of Slayer, Armored Saint, Trouble, and Corrosion Of Conformity amongst others, fanning the flames of the burgeoning metal scene and launching careers of bands that would go onto reap global success. "Without Metal Blade, there is a damn good chance we never would've made it out of L.A," says Slayer's Kerry King. "That was the one bit of luck we needed. You can be the most awesome band on the scene, and if no one notices you, you don't catch on. And Brian Slagel is still one of the biggest metalheads I know!" This genuine love and devotion to metal is central to the relationship many of the artists have with Metal Blade, and King Diamond credits much of its relevance and strength to this passion. "I refer to it as having 'boots on the ground'," the mighty Dane states. "It's not like a major label where some people might be into what you're doing but a lot of them just see it as a job – there's a genuine love for metal there. Through staying true to that and doing their own thing they've carved out a very specific niche that they control, and as an artist it's wonderful to be a part of that."over the years. Prior to becoming a house producer, David Jones built an extensive experience as a&#13;
producer through several tracks ranging in genres and Top charting in several&#13;
countries. Between 2007 and 2008 David Jones and his friend and business partner&#13;
Neuroxyde each created their own label, Starlight and Neurotraxx respectively, in which they&#13;
took responsibilities as both A&R and main producers. Since then, David has been focusing&#13;
on developing his Artist profile: his many releases strongly contributed to Starlight quickly&#13;
being widely perceived as the rising star in house music. 2009 was a great year for David:&#13;
he topped Beatport’s House Chart twice, first with “Thriller” and then with “Without me”, his&#13;
own rework of MJ and Eminem’s classic hits. Both tracks were co-produced with Aqua Diva&#13;
(Barbara Tanzini's alias), David's partner in the Diva & Jones project. David’s “Thriller”&#13;
enjoyed massive DJ support and peaked Beatport’s “Year’s Best Seller 2009” in the house&#13;
category for five weeks in a row, beating such tracks as Dennis Ferrer’s “Hey Hey”, Swedish&#13;
House Mafia’s “Leave the world behind” and Armand Van Helden’s “Funk Phenomena”; this&#13;
track was also selected by BBC Radio 1 for their special December MixMag cover CD. At the&#13;
beginning of 2010 David joined one of Italy’s most dynamic management agencies, Luca&#13;
Moretti’s Plus 39 Group. An attentive management and massive support to his tracks&#13;
combined with the high quality of all his productions pushed David at the top of Beatport’s&#13;
charts more than once and established him as one of the most notable breakthrough house&#13;
artists. Over the last few months David has been releasing his own music and enjoying&#13;
growing demand as a remixer - such artists as Armin Van Buuren, Coolio, Milton Jackson,&#13;
Shara Nelson, Jazz Bit, Da Hool, Sergio Fernandez requested David’s touch and many of his&#13;
mixes are being released through both major and independent labels such as Ultra, Time, Hed&#13;
Kandi, Ministry of Sound, Spinning, Superstar, Rise, Kontor, Vidisco, Universal etc etc. At the&#13;
end of 2010 David entered MN2S’s roster and is currently being booked worldwide.&#13;
Throughout 2011, David created remixes and productions for labels such as Hed Kandi (Disco&#13;
Revenge - Mr Devil), Juicy Music (Dopeness), Starlight (Feelove), Azuli (If Only Alarms Didn't&#13;
Ring) and Tiger Records (Fragma - Toca's Miracle) that became some of the best sellers of the&#13;
year. He hit the top tens on Beatport more than twenty times last year with collaborations as&#13;
a re-mixer and producer with artists like Robbie Rivera, Oliver Twizt, Alex Kenji, Boy George,&#13;
Fragma and others.&#13;
In 2011, David played at many European festivals, including appearances in Eastern Europe.&#13;
These travel opportunities are set to be the start of a career as a top class international Dj.&#13;
His first official music video for Emotions, produced with Alex Kenji, featuring Aqua Diva was&#13;
released in January 2012. In just 7 days, it reached more than 250,000 views on the&#13;
Kontor/Spinnin YouTube channel and interest in it is already growing in internationally among&#13;
remix artists. Positive feedback is growing throughout the world. Requests for gigs from places&#13;
as far as the states have been coming in regularly.&#13;
This, combined with the effect of the new cross over tracks are making David stand out as an&#13;
artist in the international house music scene. David Jones’ name has become such a seal of&#13;
quality that Armin Van Buuren’s label Armada have asked him to mix a compilation for the&#13;
beginning of the year: 15 Funky House Tunes - Selected by David Jones. He also selected and&#13;
mixed the compilation for Miami 2012 for Azuli; the most important compilation of the year for&#13;
one of the most historical house brands.&#13;
This compilation reached the N.1 position in the house album chart on Beatport and the top 10&#13;
in dance album on Itunes UK.&#13;
The first single out on Azuli reached the top position in selling charts at N.1 and just few weeks&#13;
later “E Samba” went to N.1 too.&#13;
At the same time Beatport published the “most sold” chart on its store and “Thriller” is the&#13;
most sold house track ever and it’s at n.2 in the overall genres chart, just after Deadmau5.&#13;
Shortly before Miami this year, a new video will be released for Zouk/Armada.&#13;

BIO:
After experimenting with various musical instruments in his formative years, Zion's Gate Sound owner Selecta Element started rapping as MC Element in 1993, at the age of 13. Music was central to the rhythms and flows of the family during the Maryland years, as a teenage boy Element was rapping, writing lyrics and making mixtapes with cassette tapes. It wasn't until 1997 that Element started spinning records in Seattle. This is when he discovered that DJing was a true calling and committed to crafting his style and developing his art.

Zion's Gate Sound entered the Clash business in 2006, and has since been in 5 sound clash events resulting in two First Place trophies, two runner up, and one 3rd place finish so far! Edward Maya born Eduard Marian Ilie on June 29, 1986 is a Romanian DJ, performer and record producer of electronic dance music. Being raised in an environment that treasures the true artistic value of musicianship and revels in the mastering of instrumental skill, it was Edward's deep rooted love and passion for music that encouraged him to start his career as an international artist attending Bucharest's George Enescu Music High School.
While continuing his studies at the Bucharest Conservatory, Edward Maya began writing songs, one of which became an entry in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, and collaborating with a number of Romania's leading producers, earning credits on different recordings. He become a successful producer in his own right with the work he put in the making of the romanian band Akcent album "No Tears" , which scored a number of hits in Europe like "Stay with Me", "That's My Name" and "Lover's Cry". 
 Although he's only been in the public eye only since 2009, he crammed at least a decade's worth of career highs and lows into those few short, high-profile years. He came to prominence grace to his new and unique touch to the house music scene with the unmistakable accordion sounds that made him a global figure in clubs all over the world in only one year after the release of his first single as an artist in the summer of 2009 called "Stereo Love" featuring Russian DJ Vika Jigulina. The single entered the top 5 singles charts in Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and The Sultanate of Oman and it was certified platinum in Canada, Denmark, Germany,Switzerland and double platinum in Spain.
