If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

The global trade in roundwood, paper, furniture and other products originating from illegally extracted timber is a multi-million dollar industry. While the West and China are the biggest importers of timber for manufacturing, logging often takes place in countries with poor governance and law enforcement capacity, especially in tropical rainforests and the boreal forests of Russia's far east. It causes unchecked deforestation, leaving plundered wastelands that impact biodiversity, accelerate climate change and threaten the livelihood of indigenous peoples. 

Illicit trade in timber is undertaken by organisations on an industrial scale, involving large companies linked to criminal networks. Serious consequences are met by those who try to stand in their way.

1.1 - Illegal Logging

Since the dawn of cinema in the early 1900s, children have been scouted, signed and thrust into the public eye. While bringing enormous riches, fame and opportunities, the pressures of working from an early age, combined with the manic fandom of Hollywood can have devastating effects. Many young stars turn to alcohol and drug abuse and spin wildly out of control, to the delight of the tabloid press.

Children by their very nature are more vulnerable to abuse - both emotional, sexual and financial. Many face all three during their acting careers. 

Jackie Coogan, child star of various hit films of the 1920s (heard speaking at 10:11), had his multi-million dollar fortune stolen by his mother and stepfather, ultimately leading to the establishment of ‘Coogan Law’ which has protected the rights and earnings of child stars ever since. 

Growing older, typecasted child actors often risk abandonment by the industry and money-driven parents. This fleeting fame is a testament to not only the fragility of stardom but America’s ongoing obsession with youth.

Forming its current line-up in 2023, the London trio are equal parts chaotic and charming. Not afraid to divert from the well-trodden paths of the capital’s live circuit, the band can  been found performing on post-punk bills at The Windmill, but also at pop nights with Laura Mvula, or at Art Galleries, house parties and comedy clubs. Also operating their own regular Post Punk is Dead club nights, its most recent edition at a sold-out Old Blue Last included sets from Truck Festival openers Yuke and DJ sets from actor Tony Gardner (My Parents Are Aliens, Fresh Meat) and Still Listening Magazine.
 
De facto debut single ‘The Best Looking Man In The Pub’ offers a glorious introduction to the band’s engrossingly perverse vision. Produced by Darren Jones (Emile Sande, Stormzy, Fat Dog), and self-effacingly described as “if James Acaster decided to front a camp Yard Act tribute band”, the track leaps from pummelling disco rhythms to all guitars-blazing euphoria; it’s both a whimsical package of performance art and an earnest, blood-rushing electro-punk extravaganza. Crowned with a release show at renowned comedy club The Bill Murray, the track has been featured by So Young Magazine, Hard of Hearing and Still Listening Magazine, as well as being played multiple times on John Kennedy’s Radio X show.
