Anne Stevenson wrote 'Still Life in Utah' - it's a poem that inspired Harriet to write poetry, and also offered us the name of our collaborative practice with its opening line: Somewhere nowhere in Utah ... In 2015 we met Anne and had the enormous privilege of sitting with her as she read this poem to us. Huge thanks to Anne for continuing to inspire us and so many others.

Richard talks about environmental schemes and how he uses his land to either grow his lambs or fatten his lambs. The difficult question for him is how to manage land that has been taken out of a scheme: improve it to feed stock better or leave it for the environment? He also talks about upland birds and how he marks a curlews nest.

Teenager Catherine Marston talks about the excitement of selling a swaledale tup for a good sum of money and how she wants to help give a voice to the farming community. She also describes some of the negative stereotypes that persist about farming among some people at her school. Conwy Valley farmer Gareth Jones reads a poem in Welsh. The poem was written by Harriet and translated into Welsh with the help of Gareth and his wife Anne. The emergence of this short verse 'Popeth yn Gysylltiedig' (Everything is Connected), which found its final form only after translation, was one of the highlights of the six-month project in which we traced the River Conwy from source to see and collaborated with scientists form Lancaster, Bangor and Nottingham Universities as well as farmers and fishermen.
