The word Authenticity is rarely used to describe a Hip-hop artist in a generation where drugs, violence and fame riddle the airwaves.

Enter John Brooks.

Little is known about the universal language shared by many people of different backgrounds but we know one thing; when it's good it's good.

Wielding a skillful advantage over the norm, John displays a mastery of crafting witty and solid metaphors built from subject matter relevant to most; dreams, aspirations, struggle, and heartbreak. 

With a magnetic sound, a diverse style and look Bay Area born songwriter and rap artist John Brooks enforces his vocal tones in a way reminiscent of those that paved the waves of his inspirations such as  Nas, Jay-Z, Slick Rick, Lauryn Hill, J. Cole  Kendrick Lamar, Red Man, Fat Joe, Will Smith, and Mistah Fab.

Dion Garrett is an artist originally from Syracuse, NY, who has done his fair share of traveling around these United States. Between serving in the US Army and touring and performing his music, Dion Whoo has made a name for himself in Tampa, Charlotte, Winston-Salem, and Dallas. 

He began his music career by teaming with the duo, November 34 back in 2014 when he dropped his freshman project Bottom Level Of Greatness: Heartbreak Hotel (B.L.O.G). This was his wake up call confirming that the music industry was his for the taking.

Dion Whoo's second EP, Dion was released in 2017. It featured the singles "Pieces of Life" and "Dion." He honed in on the power his music carries, found his niche, got more insight into the music industry, and gained understanding that he is an invaluable commodity - a business and brand unlike any other. “Raw talent is what some would call it, but when you’re writing from a subconscious place, it's just instinct.”

With the release of 2020's What if I'm Already Famous, Dion Whoo solidified both his sound and his versatility. He has firm roots in Whoo he actually is; self-assured, confident, and intentional. "I don't have any questions to ask anyone, because I'm not really concerned with anyone's opinion. Dion Whoo is a statement, not a question."

B-SimmS describes his music as cold beer and dark liquor in a room where everyone wants to drink wine. Subject matter ranges from drinking, heartbreak, random lyricism, black empowerment and various other takes on certain topics. The Houston native fell in love with music by making an impromptu drum set from a tin can when he was 11. SimmS started rapping in middle school but stopped when he found out he was trash. After picking it up in high school, SimmS conitnued rhyming in college where he performed in front of numerous audiences as well as dropped a few mixtapes and a debut album. Now living in Austin, SimmS tries to continue the vibes set by his inspirations of Nas and Jay-Z and apply it with a 2017 filter. The world will soon hear more of B-SimmS and his peculiar mixture. Last year, he released an experimental Hip hop/R&B EP, “A Fuckboi and a Gentleman”, exclusively on Datpiff. B-SimmS is still performing at shows as well as working on his upcoming, yet-to-be-titled album, which is slated to drop later this year.

Colorway's Alex Johnson is an American rock guitarist/singer-songwriter based in Kyoto, Japan. He has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno as well as Ellen and has toured the world making music for most of his life. Thanks for dropping by! 

About the band:

Colorway is F. Alex Johnson (guitar/vocals), Riley Godleski (drums/vocals) and Matt Clegg (bass). The band formed in 2012 in Northampton, Massachusetts and has played to thousands of music lovers all across the Northeast. Colorway released their self-titled debut in 2013 and The Black Sky Sequined in 2015. The ten song effort was called "One of the finest rock albums of 2015" by Ric Albano (Modern Rock Review)and Diffuser's Chuck Armstrong called the band's single "Come Back July" "impossibly catchy" when they premiered the video in 2015. The song was also chosen by the listeners WRSI 93.9 (AAA radio) as one of the top ten songs of the year.

The band's third album, These Are The Days was released on 6/21/18 and included Chris Collingwood (Fountains of Wayne/Look Park) on backup vocals. The album--co-produced by Danny Bernini (Blondie, Martin Sexton, Stryper)--features nine songs about incredible love, loss, heartbreak and joy in this world we're forced to share.

Alex has shared stages with Foreigner, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, The Yardbirds, Delta Deep (feat. members of Def Leppard and Stone Temple Pilots), Ian Hunter and The Rant Band, and Television's Richard Lloyd (who called the band "amazing and inspiring"). The trio was also included in the 2016 Green River Festival which Rolling Stone named a "must see" music fest.

The band draws on their love of American and British rock mixed with inventive, energetic and melodic lead guitar. Colorway's live show is always a moving experience for the listener and the musicians themselves, as the band strives to elevate the room and connect with the audience at each live performance and with every spin of any one of their albums.
