The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Domestic Exile. "Du Auch" comes off the American's self-titled cassette, forthcoming on Atlanta's DKA records. The project of label co-founder Chris Daresta and regular DKA collaborator Travis Thatcher along with Karger Traum's Taylor Mckenzie on vocals, the project came together after Chris and Travis sent tracks to eachother and the result is a stripped work of minimal electronics and body infused rhythms that recalls the industrial touchstones DAF and Liaisons Dangereuses. Today we premiere the fifth track on the release "Du Auch".

During the lockdown Alex and Francesco met secretly in Bologna to give shape to Lingua Nera, the sounds you will hear are the result of sessions and live improvisations composed mainly with analogue stuff: some synths, a drum machine, loads of guitar fxs and distorsions.

The tracks are very diverse but with a common thread that connects them, from weird bluesy chanting (“I don’t want a new guitar”) to psychedelic experimental noisy synths (Parasite).

The lyrics of “Poison” and “Warm Up” are taken from poems by William Blake, while the others talk about police oppression and the evictions of squats in the Bologna area.

FAILURE FORM

Bionda e Lupo are like little you’ll have heard before, a boy/girl band like no other. Synth wave is fed a line of modern alienation, delusory disco to a disdainful drum beat, house emptied and ridiculed. Rhythms are stark, melodies are as mechanical as the lyrics. Zug Der Vögel is sparse, vocals intertwine in an empty embrace whilst bars sparkle. Твои Глаза [Twoi Glasza] is more playful. Bright words shimmer against sweeping strings. The past is parodied across the EP but nowhere more so than in Die Kinder Aus Dem Park. A former classic dug out before being peppered by machine gun percussion. The stilted rhyme of Eckstein closes, a ballad of bittersweet images and lost hopes.
