The year is 1981, and the disco is alive with the vibrant energy of Halloween night. The dance floor is a sea of costumes, from classic vampires and witches to the latest pop culture icons. The DJ, dressed as a futuristic robot, proudly showcases his brand new Roland TB-303, a synthesizer that promises to revolutionize the sound of the night. As he tweaks the knobs, the room fills with hypnotic, pulsating beats that make the crowd move in unison.

In the corner of the disco, an arcade machine stands as silent sentinel, its screen glowing with the sight of a yellow, cheese-like character being chased by ghosts. The game, a recent hit, draws a small crowd of enthusiasts eager to beat the high score. The clinking of quarters and the excited shouts of players blend seamlessly with the music, creating a symphony of sound that defines the era.

A group of friends take turns at the arcade machine, laughing and cheering each other on. Among them, a few are dressed as ghosts, their white sheets fluttering as they move. One person stands out in a bright yellow cheese costume, drawing amused glances and playful comments from the crowd. The DJ, noticing their enthusiasm, decides to mix in some of the game’s iconic sounds into his set, causing a ripple of nostalgia and excitement to spread through the crowd. 

As the night progresses, a girl dressed as a pink ghost finds herself dancing closer to the yellow cheese. Their laughter is infectious, and their eyes meet frequently, each glance lingering a little longer than the last. The chemistry between them is undeniable, as they move closer, their hands brushing and smiles widening. The music swells, and they lose themselves in the rhythm, feeling as if they are the only two people in the room. As the final song plays, they share a knowing smile, realizing that this magical Halloween night has brought them together in a way they never expected. With a promise to meet again, they part ways, each carrying the memory of this unforgettable night in their hearts.

As an emulation it does have the character of a budget analog synth. It is capable of producing some thick unison basses and leads. It is also capable of creating complex percussion sounds from a single patch (the envelopes are not very flexible though). The polyphonic patches are not convincing enough, like a very primitive string machine or a "preset synthesizer" keyboard. It forced me to do a lot of double (quad) tracking, plus a weird "envelope stealing" thing, even if you have spare voices. The good thing is that CPU consumption is very low, as always with Full Bucket synths.

Velkommen til Sort Snak – fanpodcasten om hele regionens hold, de danske mestre og Danmarks nummer 1, FC Midtjylland. 

Sikke en uge. Sikke en dukkert. I de næste 90 minutter sætter vi ord på ydmygelsen på hjemmebane i søndags og det elendige pokalexit i torsdags. Vi skal have stillet diagnoserne råt for usødet oven på et historisk ringe resultat. Vi uddeler ugens fyring, og mon der nogensinde har været så mange kandidater til det grå papir i en Sort Snak-udsendelse? Nogle fans mener, at Thomas Thomasberg efterhånden også skal til at se sig over skulderen, når han lister rundt i Dream99, de meget kritiske røster er vi nødt til også at adressere. 

Men i sidste del af udsendelsen er vi nødt til at samle os og kigge fremad. Der er kun én vej, og den går gennem Draculas hjemland og den rumænske hovedstad Bukarest torsdag og videre til Håndboldens Hovedstad Vibår på søndag. Hvordan bør FC Midtjylland vende skuden, hvem skal arbejde os tilbage på banen, hvordan skal posen rystes? 

Vært er Thomas Schouv Jakobsen, aftenens spørgsmål stilles til Kasper Ganzhorn Petersen og Kent Nielsen.

This month's One Synth Challenge uses Dawsome Myth. This synth comes with a massive sound design rabbit hole so this month's effort might be biased towards sound design with a rather more lame composition than usual. Created in Bitwig Studio 5.2.7. All patches were created from init and used various samples including vocal phrases, oohs and aahs, my dog barking, a wok lid, hitting metal things and at least one sample generated with Deep Sampler. There might be a patch in there using audio dragged from another patch too... In addition to that, although most tracks were almost exclusively using the synth's built in effects, the following plugins were also used:
