This is version 3 of my song 'A twist of Yarn'. I feel that it is getting close now to how I want it to sound. Let me know your thoughts. It is a cry for help, probably lost in the noise and short span of attention of our time. We urgently need to rethink so much of what we are producing these days. This song is my response to the film 'Stracci,' by @silviagambi and @tommasosanti about the tradition of recycling textiles in Prato, Italy.  The problem, now on a global scale, feels somewhat insurmountable. What do we do with our clothing once we, as individuals, discard it? Should we be buying on a whim just to throw away before it has even had a life? Should we reconsider the fabric content? So much of our clothing is plastic in guise of 'acceptabe words such as nylon, acrylic and synthetic....yes, it is plastic waste. Perhaps it is time to change our mindset so that we can hand over the land to future generations in a fairly reasonable condition???

Sink Deeper

Cup and ring marks were created in the neolithic and early bronze age. I photographed these in Kilmartin Glen. No one knows what they mean, but there are many theories. They are often in places with inspiring views and on rocks previousy marked with naturally created, linear grooves (for example, glacial scoring). I like the idea that they were created as markers in camping grounds where groups could meet for trade, romance and ceremony... like a prehistoric Glastonbury!
