Slimzos Recordings is a foundational Grime label established in 2002 by DJ Slimzee, a pioneer in the genre and co-founder of Rinse FM. Based in London, the label emerged during the early 2000s as Grime was defining its unique sound and was closely tied to the dubplate culture that emphasized new & exclusive music. That is why Manchester-based grime-MC Blizzard deserves special recognition for reaching No 3 on iTunes with his EP Sooner Than Never. His Fire In The Booth session on Charlie Sloth's Radio 1 show and his somewhat controversial return to the infamous Don't Flop rap battle have his name circulating in all the right places, the two videos currently topping 200,000 YouTube views. A great effort from the still-teenage MC who is also a talented producer providing tracks for Wiley, RIO, Misha B as well as being a multi-instrumentalist.
