Love songs in dance music are nothing new-- a ballad and a beat are a tried and true formula. For Fatherhood's first full release on Allergy Season, the pair turn in an EP of love songs dedicated to the one lover who never leaves you, food. Across "Big Boy", four joyous house cuts stand ready to brighten any dance floor or live-stream. 

The title track is presented in three ways, two tasty preparations by Fatherhood and a ready-to-eat edit by Physical Therapy. B-side "Food" is a pumping plate of disco-house.

Fatherhood is the pairing of Allergy Season label-head Physical Therapy and NYC luminary Michael Magnan, who have collaborated and DJ'd together for nearly a decade.

* Hey SC! just wanted to announce to all ya'll that I was successful in fixing my music machines! Here's a lil' sketch i threw together to commemorate.

I also tried to fix my korg EM-1 but had some complications unfortunately : /

I'm not too sure where to go from here but the skies the limit as far as music production goes... I hope everyone is doing well! : )

Growing Bin say sayonara to summer with these bittersweet Balearic gems from Japan’s Nuback. Emotional pop and daydream dub to make you feel younger than yesterday.

While the Discogs hipsters hastily hunt down the last, lost street soul OGs, Growing Bin choose instead to indulge in a little Nuback swing. Enlisting the talents of Tokyo’s Dai Nakamura, Hamburg’s home for sensitive sounds provide a much needed vinyl release for the misty-eyed ‘When The Party Is Over’ and ‘Heartbeat Summer’.

Largely operating through his own Too Young Records, Nuback trades in textured soul, sympathetic synthesis and forlorn funk - a master at making you move while breaking your heart. Back in 2013, he waved ‘Goodbye To Summer, Again’, giving a digital release to these two tracks, which lurked a little low for the radar until Dai and Basso met somewhere beyond the algorithm, soon bringing this release to bloom.

Opening with a fanfare of featherlight pads and full bodied bass, ‘When The Party Is Over’ is pure sonic seduction, holding both Balearic boogie and City Pop in a tender embrace. Delicate guitar and sparkling sequences tug the heartstrings with nostalgic beauty, and Dai’s smooth vocals are made to make you swoon. Emotional pop at its finest folks.

On the B-side, ‘Heartbeat Summer’ drops the tempo and soaks up the sun, losing its cares in a haze of loved up dub. As soulful keys sink into spring reverb and steam kettle synths ride a rolling bassline, this downbeat delight lays back in the long grass, making shapes from the clouds and sipping a cool koshu. For summer lovers everywhere; 
A facemask ruins a first kiss, so start your romance right with Nuback.

hey yall. its me, telemist.

honestly i have no way of knowing what this wall of text will turn into, just like i didnt know what telemist would become. i started making music to deal with my personal issues and send them out to the world in a manner that at least i could understand, and you guys made me understand that i didnt have to rely on my emotions to express myself and that instead i could make the music that i wanted to hear. i could have never predicted how putting songs out could have impacted me or others, i just did. now, 9 months later, i have the greatest people both behind me, in front of me and by my side that i could ever ask for, as well as people who somehow appreciate the crap that i do. im still not used to people commenting on how they love my stuff, but one day i will be able to enjoy my own work as much as you guys do. for now, i'll just keep evolving and polishing my sound and what i want to be and, most importantly, i'll keep having as much fun as i can with every one of my productions.

this is a glimpse of what's coming next year. i hadnt planned to do this but maahir started screaming so i did it to shut him up.

i might split my music into other projects if i feel the need to establish a clear direction with this one, but if that happens ill just migrate the tunes that dont fit in here into the other project(s). all that you have listened here is eventually coming out one way or another. meanwhile, enjoy my music, enjoy me and i'd be glad if you guys let me do the same.

a proper youtube channel and more stuff probably coming in the future. but yeah, dassit really. just... thank you guys for being there:  produced, friends, listeners and everything between.

Scuffed Recordings line up the fifth release in the Scuffed Presents compilation series, looking ahead to 2021 with four new artists to the label, and sounds ranging from broken bass, UK garage, rave-inspired breaks, and rolling techno.

Opening the release is Austrian producer @awo_ojiji, a longstanding member of the Graz-based collective Disko404 who released his debut ‘Static Flow’ EP in 2020 on Eternal Ocean. His unique interpretation of broken, bass-led techno on ‘Woozy’ marks him out as an artist to watch in 2021.

Awo Ojiji - Woozy

This track selection follows Ben’s Nightwork EP, released with YAM records in April. The title track ft Joe Armon Jones was selected by Mary Ann Hobbs on 6 music, and was praised by various selectors in the scene including Benji B, Moxie, Wbeeza and many more. 

The south Londoner is not new to applying his distinctive sound to different genres , with this release ranging from breaks to uk garage to acid house. Club music with no thrills. Simple and to the point . 
 Ben's music has often led to the more ‘musical’ or ‘jazzy’ side to dance music. With past features with the likes of Nubya Garcia, Joe Armon Jones, as well as writing credits on Oscar Jerome's Gravitate which features on his album Breathe Deep.  

 However, don’t expect any jazzy collaborations on this one. There is a conscious sense of no bullshit energy throughout this release. With tracks leaning more towards the sounds of Mr G as opposed to Ben’s more (as he puts) ‘Spotify friendly’ sound. 

ONE YEAR DANCE is a homage to relationships ending, and clubs. closing.
