Aimless Kid

The title track of my first EP is literally about how humanity on Earth has a limited amount of time (hopefully still millions of years), but that our existence is still a worthwhile thing of beauty; just BEING is what makes it all worth while.  This is a collection of songs I have written through the past three years that are intended to make the listener think and feel....something...anything.

This song was originally written by the Handsome Family, and my version was inspired by Andrew Bird's 2014 recording of the song.

I recorded this version for inclusion in the Reddit "guitarpedals" subreddit annual Christmas album for 2020. For this track I used the following signal chain with my Gretsch Electromatic: MXR Blue Box (solo) - JHS Unicorn (always on) - Matthews Effects The Chemist (solo and leads) - EHX Soul Food (always on)- J. Rockett Mr. Moto Tremolo (always on with varying depth)- EHX Canyon Delay (only on harmonica) - Chase Bliss Audio MOOD (on leads and harmonica) - Walrus Audio Slo Reverb (always on).

Acoustic Guitar Signal Chain: Tech21 Liverpool - DOD Rubberneck - EQD Afterneath. All always on set subtly with Vox Pathfinder 10 placed 3-4 feet behind mic'd acoustic.
