Botticelli had a dream
He had a vision
It flowed like a stream
Because of his decision

To paint a woman so fair
None would doubt her beauty
He could not paint her on air
Should he show her booty?

Venus Transiens

Tell me,
Was Venus more beautiful
Than you are,
When she topped
The crinkled waves,
Drifting shoreward
On her plaited shell?
Was Botticelli’s vision
Fairer than mine;
And were the painted rosebuds   
He tossed his lady
Of better worth
Than the words I blow about you
To cover your too great loveliness   
As with a gauze
Of misted silver?

For me,
You stand poised
In the blue and buoyant air,
Cinctured by bright winds,
Treading the sunlight.
And the waves which precede you   
Ripple and stir
The sands at my feet.

Her eyes draw a heavenly peace to mind,
Where the green color of the sea doth dwell.
Her face is a beauteous wishing well,
Which reveals her splendor to all mankind.
Her golden hair gently blows in the wind,
As she sails across the sea on a shell.
Any attentive viewer's eyes can tell
That her figure was carefully designed.
Zephyr and Chloris continue blowing
Their perpetual winds over her head.
The pink flowers of beauty keep flowing
Across the landscape in which she is led.
Towards the shoreline her seashell keeps going,
As the Hora of Spring robes her in red.

Dressed Up But Nowhere To Go

Gary decided it was time to get the ‘It’s us, the neighbours’ band back together again for another crazy, wacky outing.
He sent Nick and myself his latest ditty and asked if we would like to contribute, obviously we both agreed.
Nick and I worked alone at first and then traded ideas for the outro section. Nick added his wild voice box solo and unmistakable fretboard scorching runs then finished off the piece with a melodic E-Bow outro, I did my bit, then we sent our contributions to Gary who pulled it all together with a stellar production.
It’s been great fun and a real pleasure to collaborate with the guys again, thanks to Gary for asking me to contribute.

It was this that gave meaning to my life.
It was this for which I lived.
The color of love faded with the wind.
But mostly it is not feelings that are fleeting.
It is people themselves who do such great damage.
Even when they don't want to, they think; to commit themselves to it.
The true feelings are in the hiddenness.
These are usually wrapped in a white, innocent dress.
"I like you." "I love you." "You are all I care about." 
And all the words.
Everyone just lied to me,
I've died countless deaths.
You gave me the melody to the song,
but suddenly the poetry is missing in my life.
It is the conscience that says what one must do,
but too often the courage is missing that drives one to do it.
It is often only a moment that shapes the future.
However, there is no one to bear the responsibility.
Life at once consists of withdrawal, guilt,
anger, self-deprecation and fear.
You want to help me, although you can't even empathize.
Everything is transient, but not memories.
Many have tried to forget them, but everyone has failed so far.
But I can say, I like to remember, because from our mistakes we can learn.
The way to myself is still very long, but I know that I can find it and create it.
I will find it, you can say what you want.
I'll make it, even if you don't help me.
The time was beautiful, I was happy.
Memories are everlasting...

Doch meistens sind es nicht Gefühle, die vergänglich sind.

Es ist das Gewissen, das sagt, was man tun muss,
doch fehlt zu oft der Mut, der einen dazu treibt, dass man es tut.
Es ist oft nur ein Augenblick, der die Zukunft prägt.
Jedoch gibt es niemanden, der die Verantwortung trägt.
Das Leben besteht auf einmal aus Entzugserscheinungen, Schuldgefühlen,
Zorn, Selbstentwertung und Angst.
Du willst mir helfen,  obwohl du nicht mal nachempfinden kannst.
Alles ist vergänglich, jedoch nicht die Erinnerungen.
viele haben versucht, sie zu vergessen, doch es ist bis jetzt jedem misslungen.
Doch ich kann sagen, ich erinnere mich gern, denn aus unseren Fehlern kann man lernen.
Der Weg zu mir selbst ist noch sehr lang,  doch ich weiß, dass ich ihn finden und schaffen kann.
Ich finde ihn, du kannst sagen, was du willst.
Ich schaffe ihn, auch wenn du mir dabei nicht hilfst.
Die Zeit war schön, ich war glücklich.
Erinnerungen sind unvergänglich.

I am Dan Lockhart/ProgRockDan.  I am half of the duo Dan X2.  I enjoy making music with my partner Dan Blackard.  I was born in East St. Louis, Illinois.  I was raised in a rural area near Edwardsville, Illinois.  I have lived in San Antonio, Texas; Bad, Kreuznach, Germany;  Kansas City, Missouri; Columbus, Georgia; Haverhill Massachusetts;  St, Louis, Missouri, and Indianapolis, Indiana.  I have resided in Carmel Indiana for the past 20 + years.  I consider this home.  I have a small studio in my home.  I go to it everyday and work on creating (writing) songs.  I play bass, guitar, banjo, mandolin, pedal steel, piano, violin, and viola.  I use Cubase for my DAW.  I master using Izotope, Ozone.
