The main synth chords feel mysterious and ominous. I wish more was happening though, especially for the percussions that are a bit to sparse to my taste (and maybe undercompressed ?)

Solid track with a very sparse but good arrangement. Sounds authentic mid seventies. In the end it drags a little. In your outro a new idea gets introduced and I wish it would have been some kind of a bridge way earlier in the piece. Nonnetheless I thing it's very good and I liked listening to it.

I'm going to recommend having a look at the Clip to Zero method for controlling loudness. I'd like to think it's helped my mixes a bit. Obviously bear in mind that I tend to come in near the bottom each month... Anyway, the gist of it is to use a limiter on every track to control the dynamics. There's a bit more to it than that and there are plenty videos about it.

The overall feel of this track works well, the sounds are good but it feels a bit one dimensional -- for OSC, at least, it is often useful to at least have a clear ABA structure. I hear some of that but mainly when the lead sound drops out which makes it a bit less of a B section and more of a continuation of the A section. Anyway, Quilcomm was a very interesting choice! :)

CHILLX - 95 - Memories Lighting Up (Memory Bubbles Pt. One)

For this OSC Any Synth Challenge, I chose the PS-3300, a beautiful software emulation of a late 1970s analogue polyphonic synthesizer from KORG. Cherry Audio developed this soft synth. Every sound you hear was created using the PS-3300. I tried to create an overall sound that matches the capabilities of a studio production in 1978. This is in honour of this beautiful synthesizer and its creators.

PeterBPL - Spotlight

My Submission for August 2025 OSC. 7 Tracks, powered by FLStudio and Quilcomm's Trout. Maximus for loudness.

Based on various incarnations of the Trautonium - a Synth Design originating in the 1930's. I chose Trout because I've wanted to try my hand as something very old and very strange with the plugin. And oh my - it's strange.

Cover is AI generated this time - Colors and some things fixed/added afterwards. My blender skills aren't THAT good. 

Early synths defined some of the sounds and vibes that powered Science Fiction, so I went with something that evoked a dangerous and strange job in space. Enjoy!
