Back Home consists of songs straight from the heart and soul, with the
purpose of bringing awareness to Crohn’s & Ulcerative Colitis. Jo created
this project with the hope that his new music will help people gain an
understanding of the disease and also give those dealing with it or
something similar, something to hold on to.

Back Home is inspired by Jo’s wife, Chelsea, who in September 2019 was
impacted in a very serious way by Ulcerative Colitis. There was no denying
that this disease brought both Jo and Chelsea to their knees. During that
time, Jo reflected deeply on how amazingly strong & beautiful Chelsea
was, through her incredible resilience.

These songs are about love, pain, struggle, defeat, and ultimately, triumph.
Jo captured these feelings to give people personal insight and the ability to
feel every groove, lyric, and vocal melody.

Jo has poured everything he has into Back Home. He wrote and
performed all of the lyrics, vocals, guitar, bass and drums in his home
studio. This process was both joyful and overwhelmingly emotional.

Jo has the great pleasure of living in Austin, TX, home to some of the most
talented and creative people and was lucky enough to have some of them
work on the project, including: Sean Giddings (keys), Benjamin Alan Levy
(mixing & engineering), Charlie Kramsky (mastering), and Catherine Davis
(album art).
