To celebrate 20 years of building Labyrinths, we have decided to release one set from each of the last ten years. I've chosen ten timeless moments that both document the history of the event and provide a historical snapshot of underground electronic music over the past ten years.

We have chosen a broad range--from closing techno sets, to morning ambient sets, to experimental sets to close the night. Each set represents a different side of the event. Taken together, they present a portrait of a decade of music.

The Labyrinthの20周年を記念して、過去10年間を振り返り、それぞれの年からひとつのミックスをピックアップすることにしました。イベントの歴史を記録すると同時に、過去10年間のアンダーグラウンドエレクトロニックミュージックの歴史的なスナップショットを提供します。今聞いても色褪せない、タイムレスな極上のミックスをお楽しみください。

テクノのクロージングセットから、朝のアンビエントセット、そして夜を締めくくるエクスペリメンタルセットまで幅広いセレクトですが、どのセットもThe Labyrinthの欠かせない側面を表しており、ここ10年におけるエレクトロニック ミュージックの全容とも言えるでしょう。

I stayed in Gijon, Spain for two weeks.
This work is a chronological collage of archival recordings made there.
I did not use reverb or delay.
The city was full of natural effects.

When I listen to this sound, I immediately remember the wonderful scenery of that time.

そこで録音したアーカイブを時系列にコラージュした作品です。
時系列だからこそできるストーリーだと思います。

リバーブ、ディレイは使っていません。
この街には自然のエフェクトに溢れていました。

Soundscape from Gijon Spain

In this special release, we bring you an electrifying excerpt from their live performance in Santiago, January 2023. Atom™ and Tobias, maestros of electronic music, have been sculpting the soundscape of European techno since the 1980s. Their journey is a chronicle of innovation, live experimentation, and sonic mastery.

This episode is a celebration of their enduring collaboration, which began with a historic performance in Frankfurt in 1990. Renowned for their live shows, the duo has continually redefined what it means to experience electronic music.

Their performance is an audacious exploration of musical possibilities, powered by real-time programming and unlimited improvisation. Despite being continents apart, with Atom in Chile and Tobias in Berlin, their reunion on stage ignites a creative force that is palpable in every beat and rhythm.

The mix is a rich tapestry of techno, woven with threads of experience from iconic venues like Berghain and the Labyrinth Festival in Japan. Listeners are invited to embark on a journey that traverses the traditional boundaries of the genre, venturing into uncharted auditory territories.

A live session that encapsulates three decades of evolution in the world of electronic music, where every moment is an spontaneous creation, and every sound a revelation.

ENA (@ena-iai) is a music producer from and based in Tokyo. He is a major player in the Japanese underground dance music scene for more than a decade. Taking influences from early drum & bass productions, rave sound and abstract hip hop, ENA is recognized for his tight production techniques and massive audio dynamics. Uncompromising, forward thinking and unique, his releases on 7even Recordings, Horo and Latency brought international attention and have led to collaborations with like-minded virtuosos such as Felix K and Rashad Becker which were both invited to perform on the main stage of Berlin Atonal festival (in 2016 and 2017 respectively.) As a DJ, he has been playing regularly in the main clubs in Tokyo such as Unit, Contact, WWW and Club Asia as well as underground haunts like Forestlimit and Soup for many years. His expert music selection and technical excellence continues to impress the audience in and outside of Japan. Having toured Asia and Europe numerous times and appearing in wide range of prominent international festivals such as Berlin Atonal, rural, Fibre, Mapping and Sun and Bass in the past few years, he is establishing himself as a singular performer fitted to deliver a primetime rave set to a gritty basement fix to abstracted sonic experiments.

Mostra (@mostrabcn) is an independent, small-format festival of avant-garde and experimental electronic music which emerged by the end of 2021 as a counterpoint to the macro-festivals and the overcrowded, commercial and impersonal offerings of other large events held in Barcelona. Mostra will be celebrating its fourth edition from 17 to 20 April in 2025.
