Harvey & Delores

Chamber piece for plucked string instruments, co-composed by Liam Hynes-Tawa and me - for this one we again used the collaborative composition method in which each person harmonized what the prior person wrote, and then wrote a new section for a subset of the voices in the piece, which the other person would then harmonize, etc.

On A Dull Day

A folkie take on Del Amitri’s “Tell Her This” written by Justin Currie & Iain Harvie. I wasn’t aware of this Scottish band during their initial popularity but even their pop hits have some impressive writing behind them and I came to really admire this globally successful band. This song especially touched me with its insightful words which I’ve taken here and done in stripped down folk fashion.
