12 of the Best NickGCherrydot

Here's my 8th album in all its musical colour. All the themes and styles from the later albums are here though admittedly this is the wider range with 'Sea of Blue' (Full Jazz) at one end and the instrumental Chugging heavy rock 'Exhilarate' at the other end. 
Revisiting I feel the stand out tracks for me are still 'To The Floor', 'Take a Closer Look', 'From My Head To My Toe' and 'Cute & Clever'. 
It doesn't seem over 2 years since this was constantly playing in the studio however I still feel this is one of my favourite releases and definitely paved the way for the following albums '9', 'Keep On' and most recently 'The Perfect Storm'.

All The Colours 27.8.2021

So after finalising Album 7, here's a new Rock track kept short and simple. Shocker no guitar solo and quite simply nailed to the floor. There's three tracks on the go currently all in varying stages so creative times as lockdown gently begins to ease!

To The Floor.WAV

So here's 'Take a Closer Look', fresh off the press.  It's unashamedly Rock, in the style of my tracks before being 'Enter Your World', Red Carpet' and 'On The Road'. A cheeky guitar call and response intro straight into the descending rhythm of an addictive verse interspersed with major 7ths and a blistering solo and vocal finale. Enjoy, album 8 is lining up nicely.

Vocals are back on after the last 2 instrumentals. Great fun to record , it's d tuned with a simple bluesy riff and cheeky guitar solo, naturally. Rounded off with a harmonised finale. This is part of 4 tracks that were all penned at once, the remaining three are in the final stages of completion.

Here's a catchy new number with Vocals. Also has wah wah and 2 guitar solo's for the price of 1 ! It's a driven shuffle beat with a recurring guitar led rhythm and catchy chorus, see what you think.

One Step At A Time.WAV

Here's a bouncy new track! Full of life like a jack in the box, can't wait to be freed. Catchy, addictive PopRock, Quirky and Fun. Just started with the riff two weeks ago and transformed into this, the best antidote. N x

Hit It Again.WAV

Another Riff driven Pop/Rocker , no solo shocker!
An almost 'playgroundesque' riff which glues the track together along with more jangle than a jewellers wrist. The vocals are delivered deadpan straight with an infectious bass line which has space to hit octaves and some funky off beat lines. Altogether an intriguing pop song,  and the lyrics? Well that's a chapter in itself.

As ever from me I've been told this is not your average rock song. Lead and Rhythm guitar is all Gibson 335 with a catchy riff and a chorus of harmonies, some cheeky guitar and drum fills held in place by slinky bass. The guitar rhythm is restrained (for me)and very addictive to play with an octave driven solo and staccato interlude which is not a phrase I use everyday! 
In summary it's 3.27 minutes of alternative rock pop and was a lot of fun to finalise.
The unfinished tracks are taking shape, though always interspersed with new songs and ideas vying for attention.

As you do . Piccie the long sufferin well travelled and much loved and respected Luca Bug. Oh the stories he could tell. Seperated from his twin at birth , stuck in a tree in a public square in a sleepy French market town overnight , only to be fished out by a crabbing line (handle. not hook end). Also abandoned and alone on Brittany ferries till stewardess holding him aloft waving his arm to cars departing . Of which we were one , we were all reunited that day. Our Love's like nuclear fission we've got a 2 way....
November 2019 , thirty years on from original conception and having had a makeover 2WT has a very new lease of life , similarities there. This is now dedicated to Grupo Mamaraccho Bristol, you know who you are. Thank you.

2 Way Transmission

There's a progression here from 'On A Good Day'. Riff and music came quickly on this whilst on location. Lyrics took longer as did the mastering. Similar in style to 'Black Tulip' tracks 'Easy as 123' and 'Gotta Get Up'. 
Two more tracks in the pipeline, one commenced last night the other I'm playing hard to get with. Its been two thirds done for three weeks now, the finishing touches obviously need to cook a while longer! Till then watchout for 'Who Would You Be'.

Written entirely on location whilst in Sunny Swansea! A rollicking shuffle beat , cheeky guitar licks, catchy chorus, this is addictive.

Hear This !WAV

This is the first track for 2021, having been several weeks in the making. Similar in style to Spice Of Life and Humane and unlike Blow It Away, has definitely got a guitar solo in it. All Cherrydot on this one welcoming in 2021 !

A Second Chance.WAV

Another Rocker, been working on this for the past week and finished mastering today. All 335 on this and solo done on the third take which is a shredder btw! Three more tracks on the horizon in various stages and album 7 out before Spring. Keep it tuned.

This was penned this morning and is a lively jazzy refresher. Felt it was just what the day needed to get kickstarted. Enjoy!

At The Races.WAV

So this is track 150. This fits between the lighter 'Pop' songs like 'As If You Didn't Know', 'Love to Give' and 'Flight Home'. Took three days to complete from start to finish which is good going for me these days, just all fell into place and felt right. It's all Les Paul and came to me after a Zoom session last week!

Following 'Positive Signs' wasn't easy though the music for this has been complete for the past month. Lyrics now included and it's a sparky number with open chords and counter melodies and harmonies.

Looking For Something.WAV

Gibson Cherry Dot obsession continues. Inspired by exciting grooves and a 60’s vibe which I wear on my sleeve. There’s an eclectic mix of guitar fuelled rhythms all written, produced and performed by myself which have now culminated in 226 tracks in 5 years. Having added vocals to the mix this has brought a further depth and individuality to the songs. 2020 saw the creativity in writing and self releasing 2 EP's and 9 albums 'The Black Tulip' , 'Prismatic' , 'Who Would You Be?' , 'The Red Carpet', 'Cat & Mouse', ‘How This Plays Out', 'Positive Signs', 'All The Colours' and  '9' from April 2022, it's frenetic.
These are available on the usual outlets Spotify/iTunes/Deezer/Pandora/Napster, Bandcamp etc.

Its eclectic, quirky I confess, British? Experimental in places but above all stuffed full with Gibson guitars, energy and a passion for music and life in the highs and lows that days of late bring.  Hope you appreciate the artwork too all photographed or produced by me to keep it authentic and original.

The tenth album 'Keep On' saw the development of style and flow which  includes my personal favourites 'The Things That You Love', 'Man on The Run' and the title track, 'Keep On'. These all adapted a different approach and development that simply wouldn't have occurred at the start of the journey,  

The music's progressing and the album 'The Perfect Storm' set the benchmark in online attention with the title track single. I think the style and sincerity of performance mirrored the fact that all of my tracks are written for a reason and sparked by quite intense life changing events behind the scenes, you couldn't write it or maybe I could ! 
Personal choices at the moment are the opener Can't Erase The Memory, I Can and of course the single The Perfect Storm. 

Twelfth album ‘Heart Of Blue’, is completed and recently released  September 6th 2024. It's been a while (for me) in the making and each track just builds on the last. The themes of resilience, belief and positivity remain and the music continues to be guitar driven and punchy with hooks and catchy melodies.  

Album 13 is entitled 'Every Time' and is released to all platforms on June 12th. To come so quickly after 'Heart Of Blue' says a lot about the inspiration and creative drive. Themes of resilience, perseverance, hope and love, dominate in what I believe is my most cognitive and mature album yet, see what you think.
 
I'm thankful the creativity continues. The fact the writing and playing still excites and intrigues is a bonus! Where there's a story to tell and a melody to be heard the last song is always my drug for the next, 13 albums in it's not abating anytime soon.
