1 - You Just Gotta Be Worth It

In this episode, I brought on two psychologists Dr. Park and Dr. Morling to discuss how there are consequences on striving for self esteem, but that's what we are "supposed," to do...right? Along with that, we continue to question if we are harming those with low self esteem with the praise we give them...and if simple affirmations are actually helping us in the way we think! I reference Dr. Park's article she created with Crocker on the "Costly Pursuit of Self Esteem," (2004), Brummelman et. al on his article "The Adverse Impact of Inflated Praise on Children with Low-Self-Esteem," (2014), as well as Wood, Lee, and Perunovie's article on "Positive Self Statements," (2008).

2 - Oh...Did I Do That?

In this episode, Dr. Morling is back to help me give out positive ways on how we can live in our healthiest way! We go over the benefits of pursuing self compassion by being our own best friend, recognizing imperfections, and living presently away from your thoughts! We also go over different perspectives on looking at negative outcomes. I will reference Neff's article on "Self Compassion," (2011), along with Kross and Ayduk's article on "Self-Distancing,"(2011).

3- Take it Slow & Go with da Flow

In this episode, I have another joint call with Dr. Morling (are we surprised?), along with Kristen Budd from mindsetworks for us to discuss MORE positive ways on how to think/be our best selves!! We get into the fixed and growth mindset, how to adopt a growth mindset, and how we can get what we want, in a way that people may not be familiar with called W.O.O.P. We are back with another self reflecting episode, but a lot more fun! This episode is just me, where I discuss the hate behind believing in zodiacs, and get into the debate if the Myers Briggs test is more reliable than astrology...or are they the same?! Also, we talk about how we should just "authentically," be ourselves and the personality trait called self monitoring. I reference Adam Grant's article "Unless You're Oprah, 'Be Yourself,' Is Terrible Advice," (2016) and Stromberg and Caswell's article "Why the Myers-Briggs test is Totally Meaningless," (2015).
