This is part of a musical suite written to prepare for music that will be created for the Elder Scrolls mod, Beyond Skyrim.  This is for the Argonia/Black Marsh region.

My plan is to write this musical suite and then use the themes I develop as the foundation for the in-game music that I will create later.

Song of Argonia is a musical suite that represents the history of Tamriel from the perspective of Argonia.  This part, "The Hist," musically represents the mysterious Hist trees that govern Black Marsh and stand in as gods for the native Argonians.  I wanted to mix the natural and the ethereal.  The holy and the otherworldly.  The Hist are both timeless and physical.  Their true motives are veiled.

Competition entry for the Professional Composers Community 2020 October, Majestic Music Contest.

I've been focusing on modeled instruments (with expressive controllers, spatial mixing etc) lately, so there wasn't really room for this competition in my schedule, but I decided to write a piano piece - and even this connects to my main project, as the piano is physical modeling based.

Didn't have much of a plan for this one, but rather just found a picture for inspiration, improvised a bit on the piano, and came up with a few ideas that I developed into the different parts. It was all recorded without metronome and edited "freehand," so timing and tempo is all by feel.
