The deep fall

Influenced and satisfied since my young age by the minimalist music of authors such as Terry Riley, La Monte Young (The Tortoise, his Dreams and Journeys), Steve Reich, Philip Glass, just to name a few, I decided to resume the studies of what already partly learned in the '80s and to return to compose the kind of music that has always fascinated me, and which I think is the closest to the psychological and formative aspects of my being.

It all started with my first electronic instrumentation of those years.

Minimalist music is normally inspired by the avant-garde visual arts of the sixties and pop art, and its style is characterized by the management of sound parameters such as height, timbre, length, volume and density.

The inspiration comes from the perennial research of new sounds to be melted, mixed, modeled, basing my compositions mainly on the concept of sound, with the consequent detachment from what are defined as "musical theories".

All of this inevitably leads me towards the genre that today is defined  DRONE Music. The Drone Music is in fact a musical style born from minimalism, which emphasizes the use of sounds, notes or clusters extended and repeated also called BORDONI (Italian term to define what in English is called DRONE); in summary, the composition comes from a harmonious or monophonic accompanying effect, in which a note or an accord are played in continuous mode for a good part or for the whole composition, sustained or repeated, so as to determine the tonality of the composition itself.

This factor, which will contribute to making them more meditative and ecstatic, will inevitably lead to making the compositions almost hypnotic.

Just Terry Riley about his music, minimalist, he said:
"When you listen strictly to a pattern that is continually resumed, it begins, at some point, to undergo a kind of subtle change because in the meantime you are changing. »
