I wrote this song over 5 years ago. Some of you may even remember the music video that accompanied it when it was initially released under the band named “Blackburn.” If you had asked me what the song was about 5 years ago, I probably would have given a confusing and muddled response; at that point in time, I didn’t really understand who I was. If you ask me about it now, I will tell you it is a story about a confused young man! Honestly, I think we are all continuously working to understand who we really are. It is my hope that someone will listen to it, relate to it, and be moved by it. I hope it helps someone. I have made many friends along the way, and am fortunate to have a select few who have helped me create The Monsters of Me; to them, I extend my most sincere thank you.

A tune created in 2000 and lyrics added in 2001.   This tune we did not have enough time to record properly in 2001 but, with the help of recording technology, it has been transferred from a D90 tape and chopped and sliced to complete this song finally.   My vocals were added 18 years later.  The production isn’t perfect, due to a poor tape recording, but this is a tune I had great fun finally finishing.  This was the two man amalgamation in a very productive period and is my favourite lyrics and riff.  This riff also inspired an Innovator song during my period in the band('Southern Lady').  The main riff was modified and a slight verse chord change.
