This song is about climate change from my limited first person observations as a Virginian.  Virginia is very temperate with little climate challenges to speak of.  Still I’ve been able to see significant changes and events that seem abnormal at a minimum but could have dire consequences.  As the lyrics state, “I just share what I see”.

A Wall

Have you ever been stuck in a toxic relationship?  Goodbye is a break-up song full of conflicting emotions.  You know the relationship is going nowhere and you don't love this person but there's always just enough to keep you going.  It's time to say Goodbye and the joy of this song reflects that feeling once it's finally over.  Break-up songs don't need to be sappy, whiny or remorseful. Pype be crushin.  'Show No Fear' was one of the first songs from the Crushing Days era.  More sad boi vibes.  The mandolin is strong with this one. Show No Fear

Lust is not something to play with.  In my youth I was drawn to romantic endeavors that were interesting and exciting to me, much to my detriment.  'A Little Game' is the fourth single from my forthcoming album, 'Crushing Days' about one such relationship.  Over the years, I have learned to seek relationships that bring me peace instead of chaos.  The album, due out later this year, chronicles my growth from this track which masks confusion with confidence to the maturity of the title track.  'A Little Game' was originally released in 2022 as an industrial-metal track.  The acoustic version is an entirely different arrangement.

'Something In The Way' is about reaching for connection in an incomplete relationship.  It's about two people's journey to find their respective identity with the song being an instance of crossing paths.  It's the fifth single off of my forthcoming album 'Crushing Days'. This album is a collection of songs I wrote about relationships during the late 90s and early 00s.  The full album will be released later this year.

Something In The Way

This song almost didn't make it on the album primarily bc I felt the lyrics were inappropriate for a husband of 20 years and a father of 2.  That said, musically it might be the best produced track on the album.  It's very rhythmically unique.  I wrote this song in the late nineties but the second verse was written near the time of recording since I forgot the lyrics.  I have changed some lyrics in my older songs in cases where an update made sense or if I just forgot or lost the original lyrics.  That said, songs on the Crushing Days album retain about 90 percent of their original version.  'I Was There' is the 6th single from my 'Crushing Days' album which releases on 5-23-2025.

I Was There

Crushing Days is about completing an era in my life where I was chasing unrealistic, illogical and bad relationship prospects.  It's about understanding who you are, what you need and what you don't.  Just because someone is exciting or interesting to you, it doesn't mean that it's a good match.  Prioritize what you need first.

This album is a collection of songs I wrote about relationships during the late 90s and early 00s.  It's all acoustic featuring an acoustic guitar, acoustic bass, mandolin and brushed drums.
