Hey Mark man, love your work in here, and especially your attention to detail. Also love how we can ask you for just about any editing, and know that you'll solve it perfectly and quickly. Your sax is perfect for the vamp for the solo section, and your strings fill out the third verse perfectly. Your mouth harp, which I know you added at the 11th hour, is also a treat, and perfect for the overall sound. Hey brother man, always a wonderful experience making music with you.

Well, there are countless versions of this song around the world. Legend has it that he was drunk on the day of recording. Yours, my friends, is worthy of the greatest. Everyone threw themselves into it brilliantly. Next time I go on a rampage on Halloween night, I'll put your version on my MP3 player. It won't be easy when I've turned into a werewolf, but I promise to do my best. 😁

This cover of the CCR version of this Screaming Jay Hawkins classic began as an idea Josh had for Eclectic Collective putting on a musical Halloween costume. He was inspired by his favorite band, Phish, who cover an entire album every Halloween as a musical costume. Although, which song we covered was up for debate from the start. 
  Once we decided on a song, Josh laid down the skeleton for it on his '71 SG. Once we had a framework to work with, Ken laid down his rocking drums, followed by Josh completing the rhythm section by adding his trusty P-bass. Even though the song was now in its infancy, Carl summoned all his Halloween spirit for his dynamic vocal performance.  
  Now that it was sounding like a real song, JJ dropped both the key piano part, as well as his expressive organ in there, too. Mark wasn't far behind, adding his magic via some bluesy harmonica, the sax in the solo section, and strings near the end. Stephen came through with the spooky tremolo guitar and the fiery first half of the guitar solo in the solo section right after. And to put the cherry on the musical sundae, Tez brought the lightning down for the second half of the guitar solo, as well as the solo work that leads the whole way to the end.
  We all enjoyed bringing this classic song back to life, and doing it in the spirit of what may be the most fun holiday on the calendar. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it. Happy Halloween!
