My anxiety story (part 2)

“I Overcame My Anxiety, Now Let Me Help You”

This is the second in the series of short videos that I’ve made on anxiety and panic attacks and of course they come to you free of charge. 

Now I thought I’d give you a brief overview of my own experiences so that you know I do understand how you feel, because I know how difficult it is to break that cycle of anxiety.
I was a police officer for 28 years and I was diagnosed with chronic anxiety, and I had to leave a job which I had done for most of my adult life. Now leaving this job meant that really I left behind my sense of self worth, my self esteem and my self confidence, my life hit rock bottom and virtually I become a recluse for about a year.
Now I had ex colleagues come to visit me and I suppose they were well meaning I have no doubt about that, but I suppose that’s the first time that I realised that most people don’t understand what life is like when you suffer from anxiety. Because my colleagues would say to me things like “Well you’ve got a lot of time on your hands now, you should be able to relax.”
Relax was something that I didn’t feel I could do. My body wasn’t allowing me to relax, my brain and my body was just on the go all the time. With all the chemicals and all the hormones that were flooding through me was part of my anxiety.
They would say things to me like “Well you live in the country side, it’s a lovely environment. Why don’t you just take the dogs for a walk? You know, take your mind away from things.”
Again what people don’t realise is that when you suffer from anxiety, life can be a prison. I mean I was living in a prison of my own mind and it didn’t matter where I was or what I was doing. I felt as if I was surrounded by barbed wire. So it took a long time for me to be able to get the confidence to actually think about going out and trying to live my life again. 
Now I was on medication and I was receiving some therapy, some counselling. I did start to actually feel that I was able to start managing my life again, and I applied for a job with a local heritage organisation, which is a subject very dear to my heart, and I was offered this job, I took the job but on the first day I had this massive panic attack and I just couldn’t attend and I emailed them. I didn’t have the confidence to pick up the phone and speak to them. I emailed them and they were very understanding, but of course that really sent me back down to rock bottom. Now I had met someone else who was to become my partner and she said to me “Look, things are just not going anywhere. You’re just standing still here where you are.”  She asked me “Will you try something?” and I said “Yeah I’ll try anything”
So she introduced me to this sect of self help hypnosis CD’s, and I have to say, my mindset which was very sceptical was more like “I’ll try anything, but I don’t really want to try this.”
However I was desperate. I was desperate to free myself from this barbed wire mindset that I had. So I started listening to these CD’s and now the real positive thing is of course I was able to listen to these in the safety, security and privacy of my own home. 
So it didn’t matter what I felt like, because I didn’t have to leave home to go to a clinic or someone’s consulting room, I could do this in the privacy of my own home. So if I was having a good day and I didn’t want to listen to them, I didn’t and if I was having a bad day I did listen to them. If I was having a good day and I wanted to listen to them, I listened to them.
But what’s happened is that I started listening to them every day and sometimes more than once a day and to my amazement I found that I started to look at life differently and I started to go from strength to strength, and I started to overcome my anxiety and I started to realise that I could actually be free of this sort of barbed wire mentality.
I applied for another job, now this job is more in line with experiences that I had as a police officer because I actually got a job training police officers in a police training centre and I enjoyed that so much and found that I had gone from strength to strength that I actually got another job, a part time job in a college for further education. I was teaching police officers full time and that was a job I continued to do for another 13 years.
I was teaching police officers full time and I was teaching part time as a tutor in a college for further education and on top of that Claire and I were together by that time and we decided we wanted to become foster carers, so we applied to become foster carers and we started sharing our lives with some fantastic children.
Well that was the dogs barking, I’m very fortunate that I’m able to work from home and which I really appreciate. However, unfortunately you do have interruptions of day to day life going on around you. 
So just to catch up where we were:
 I had overcome my anxiety. 
I had gone from very very dark days, to really starting to enjoy my life to the full.
 I was working full time. I had a part time job as a college tutor.
Claire and I had become foster carers and were now sharing our lives with some gorgeous children and I was starting to enjoy my life.
But when I looked at what had happened to me, my experiences. I decided that I would use that experience to help others. So I trained as a hypnotherapist and really that is why I am here today talking to you, because I had been able to help other people overcome their difficulties and I have now put together this program called “Stop Anxiety” which of course the videos that are coming to the inbox of your email are part of that program.

Deadly Buda is one of rave’s Renaissance men. From the scene’s birth in the early ‘90s to the present day, Buda has catalyzed and inspired ravers around the world. Graffiti art powers his style. Prior to his first rave, Buda’s art appeared on walls, trains, and in galleries, museums and books, like 1986’s “Spray Can Art.” Leveraging his graffiti fame, he produced and DJed Pittsburgh PA’s first rave in 1991, The Psychotronic Slack Rave, and opened one of the nation’s first rave record stores, Turbo-Zen. He created flyer art for the store’s seminal events as well as graphics for Brooklyn’s Industrial Strength Records.  During this time, he also wrote record reviews, editorials and scene reports for storied publications like Under One Sky, Massive, the U.K.’s Alien Underground, Germany’s Raveline, and Canada’s Streetsounds. Next, he would play at some of the USA’s most celebrated raves such as Even Furthur ‘96, headlining with such acts as Daft Punk, Frankie Bones and Mixmaster Morris. He produced music for esteemed record labels Communique, Praxis, Mokum, Fukem, Level 2, and his own label, Deadly Systems. After moving to Colorado in the mid-90s, he published the hardcore techno newspaper, The Deadly Type, and he would travel to Europe to play at teknivals (large-scale, free, illegal parties) whilst importing and exporting vinyl across the Atlantic Ocean for a then-birthing hardcore techno global distribution network.  Meanwhile, his DJ mix show would appear on one of the world’s first electronic music internet radios stations, Radio Valve, which broadcasted from his apartment in Boulder, Colorado. 
After producing Los Angeles first hardcore techno anthems, “Esto es Los Angeles” for Atomic Hardcore Records and headlining Together as One’s year 2000 rave at the Los Angeles Sports Arena, Buda moved to Los Angeles. There, he organized the Candlelight parties, which would give birth to Darkmatter Soundsystem, one of Los Angeles’s longest running party sound-systems. Then, he went into seclusion to develop an animated movie based on his experience in the rave scene. Aside from a brief period producing an experimental online radio station, Deadly Buda Radio, he would rarely appear in public until he resurfaced in 2014 in Santa Barbara, CA at “Seppuku Deadculture’s Birthday Bash,” following a devastating fire that destroyed nearly all his earthly possessions. As he rose from the ashes he began to DJ again with fury, quickly resuming his status as a rave headliner at some of the biggest hardcore raves in the USA. He began writing popular rave-related articles for one of the country’s biggest free weeklies, the LA Weekly, and began publishing America’s only printed magazine dedicated to the harder side of electronic dance music, The Hard Data, where his developing animation project is currently presented in comic book form as “Deadly Buda Comix.” In 2017, his latest musical production and video set to rock the hardcore world, “King of Style” was released on Industrial Strength Records. Deadly Buda’s life has been dedicated to the rave, and his experience is summed up in the mantra he repeats at the end of his every editorial in The Hard Data magazine: “The rhythm is life and death.”

For those of you who can distinguish the difference between a disk changer & a pro DJ when you hear Tengo you realize that there is a true higher intelligence behind the music that’s hypnotizing you & you realize why this industry has come so far. in a world of copy cat pop hit disk flipping posers you do find the DJ that truly deserves a grand stage & your attention. be original have your own sound is what Tengo believes in (it’s better to have a hundred music lovers than 200 Champaign popping socialites that have no interest in the musical process what soever). Tengo walks down in to the crowed after every set to remind him self that he is one with the people not above them but holds a symbiotic relationship that feeds off of each other. We begin the story

In the spring of 1997 with the rapid rise of technology, DJ Tengo went out to get his first computer in the hope of building a home studio, so that he may pursue cutting a high quality demo to showcase his eccentric guitar skills and his vision for the next frontier of music. Along with his goals the computer would be his first CD player of any kind witch would inspire him to start up a collection of music that he enjoyed.

One night wile out partying At Clementine, a lounge on 8 th street and fifth avenue in Manhattan, he noticed that the owner was spinning that night. He approached him and asked why the host of a party would be playing music and not paying attention to the teedies task of managing and supervising. Soon Tengo would learn why the owner took it upon himself to entertain the crowd. After a brief conversation, Tengo understood the importance of a DJ, for with out the right one you have no party. So he then proceeded to convince the owner to give him a shot at performing there, and explained that he had never spun before but assured the club owner that he knew what to do to get the crowd interested, and knew how to present the music in a fashion that would keep the crowd energized and motivated to dance. So without any thing to loose he gave Tengo the opportunity to prove himself as an entertainer. In the following week, after a five minute crash course in mixing from the security guard who new the art of mixing, Tengo made his first debuted as a DJ, he delivered as promised, along with exceeding all expectations of his ability, and landed his first gig as a DJ. At the end of the night he was told by management that he was the most exiting DJ that had ever spun there, along with many customer complements & a new confidence in his ability he landed his first Gig.

He took his first few steps in to a new world were he could utilize his never yielding imagination for innovation in the world of music. Wile holding down a job as a grip in the film industry, and a gig as a DJ one night a week, he couldn’t stop doing hard labor yet, not until a few months after when another uncommon opportunity arose were he was trained as a DJ in a strip club, this job gave him the opportunity to stop griping and concentrate on his skills as a DJ. He made a life altering career change Wile letting fate push him to a musical path that his heart desired and longed for, leaving behind a steady and profitable job in hope of destiny’s arrival.

So for the next few years he perfected his skills in mixing, and collected a massive library of music that ranges from all sides of the musical spectrum, witch is his strong point, Tengo is not proprietary to one type of music, he is deeply rooted in both popular and unpopular music, he believes strongly that in order to contemplate the future of music you need to know the depths of the past. In the next eight years of his career leading in to 2005 Tengo has worked gigs and held residencies at some of NY’s top rated lounges such as Résumé Spinning Hip Hop Rock & House along with live performances playing instruments and Live Sound Sculpting , accompanied by other DJ’s, live sound sculpting is something no one in the industry dose except DJ Tengo. In his eight year career as a DJ, Tengo has made a conches decision to concentrate on producing and spinning house/dance music only. Inspired by such artists as Danny Teneglia Victor Calderone & more. With no more time to loose and a well-planed mission Tengo’s production tracks started release in 2009 with Nervous Records & continues with UC & Rocit Records shortly after Tengo started Lucid Records with support from some of the top industry leaders. Tengo is currently the resident Saturday night DJ @ world renown Webster Hall NYC nightclub in the grand ballroom since summer of 2009 along with his residency he has graced the stage @ Pacha NYC & M2 all three the cream of the crop in NYC nightlife.

S-Wayne was raised in the dirty south and started rapping at the tender age of eight. That was the official jump off for this gifted young artist. At age nine he made his first public performance at a get together in the local park. By the time Wayne made it to the seventh grade he knew their was no turning back. ormed group South Kamp he took the southern independent scene by storm. South Kamps first single South Geoi landed S-Wayne and his group a record deal with All-Net Records. This was a huge move for South Kamp as All-Net Records was owned and operated by a well known NBA player. Two and a half years and 30 songs later All-Net Records folded. S- Wayne knew then for him to see success in the music industry he would have to have as much business acumen as he had talent. Refocused and regrouped he went to college and worked to support his daughter. With a new lease on life and a new business venture, South Kamp released the critically acclaimed album Crooked Coffee. This led to radio spots for 97.9fm in Macon, GA & 93.1fm in Savannah, GA. Their fan base grew once they began opening up for major recording artist such as Field Mob and the 69 Boyz. Being The breakout star S-Wayne was pushed him to make his first solo album Gods Son Devils Favorite He moved massive units out of the trunk due to his breakout single Fuck That Shit. Moses Agboola, popularly known as “Mo Eazy”, is a Nigerian/British multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, performing artiste and Actor. The name Kevin Byrne has become quite familiar in the hard house scene over the last few years with his unique productions and sound. He started mixing hard house back in 2003 and soon began playing in a host of clubs around Dublin. At that time the scene was booming in Ireland and he had an obsession with the bounce sound.


Fast forward a few years and his love of the music broadened to where he played tougher sounding stuff and he started his first music production course in 2007. 


His name became known when he had his first release on the amazing Stereodays Recordings with "Rock Your Body" which was at the number one spot for 2 weeks. His biggest influence in his productions is phenom Dave Owens and you can definitely hear it in his music. 


Since then he has had a string of releases on huge labels such as Nitrox, Tempo Trax, Slingshot, Bezerk and the massive hit label Elevate Digital which he co-runs. 


After a Brief hiatus from the scene he's planning a big comeback with a whole host of monster tracks so keep an eye closely to this page!!!
