I wrote this with Pen Ward, for the Adventure Time episode, "It Came From the Nightosphere," back in 2010.

It was my first storyboard, and my first song for TV! 

This recording is from just after the episode aired, and it includes my early pitch for the song, and the final after working on it with Pen. 

Huge thanks to Pen for taking a chance on me back then, and to my first AT board partner Adam Muto for teaching me everything I know!

For the episode Morituri Te Salutamus! I remember writing this very late into working on this board, and pitching it to Pen in his office. I was really going for an Aimee Mann vibe at the end of it. 
I loved working on this episode with Adam. I think we were both really sick at the time. I remember us quarantining ourselves in our office.

On a Tropical Island Demo

I was so, SO excited to get to work on this episode. I wanted to do justice to Natasha Allegri's Fionna and Cake characters! I tried to go all out on this for the big romantic musical number. 
Also I was excited to have Cake play the hammer dulcimer because it's the instrument I learned music on!

Oh Fionna Demo

I went out of my mind working on this one! It was so tough. I had to ask Ian to leave our apartment. I played and played my guts out trying to write this thing. When he came back I'd finished, and I played it and sang it in an exhausted fury and it was probably the best pitch I ever did of this song.
