Fauxtown Records is an indie record label that has been around since 2005, hailing from the Southern Ontario region.  

The label began as a congregation of several local bands from this area, after the region had experienced what seemed like a "golden age" for rock, punk, alternative, experimental, and outsider acts from the area.  In the late 90's, after countless cool bands both internationally famous and virtually unknown came and went, it was soon enough time for the new kids to try out this "music" thing.  While the glory days could not be reclaimed as such, some interesting sounds began to rumble through the walls of old buildings, and pierce the silvery sheen on the river's surface just enough to cause a small sonic ripple.

Fauxtown, as an entity, seeks to surprise listeners with songs yet unheard that will hopefully waft breezily through your speakers and blow softly on the cobwebs inside your soul, not to brush the cobwebs away, but simply to cause them to move in time with the music ever so slightly...

Pete Bromley has been Stoke On Trent's top House DJ since 1989 and it has been an interesting and varied journey for him! Resident DJ at Stoke's first successful Underground Dance night 'Introspective' back in 1989 he went on to play at the infamous Shelleys Laserdome as well as other influential clubnights across the UK. Pete's next residency was to be at the Freetown in Hanley which would see him play alongside DJ's like Sasha & Dave Seaman. This would become the stepping stone to his next residency, the legendary Golden. Pete was the main resident DJ at Golden for an amazing 11 years which saw him play with the worlds biggest DJ's bar none. During this time he played many guest appearances at places such as Cream, Renaissance, Ministry Of Sound and DJ magazine listed him as one of the most popular resident DJ's in the world, resulting in his Essential Mix live on Radio 1 alongside Pete Tong at Sankeys in 1996. Quite an accolade seeing as he has never bolstered his career with international gigs, remixes or a recording career as 99% of producer/DJ's do these days. After Golden's demise In 2003, Pete then went on to become one of the resident DJ's at Satchmo's which has now become part of Stoke clubbing folkelore and his position has been cemented over the last years as resident DJ for the Move and their parties at The Sugarmill, Spode Warehouse & The Underground  playing alongside Jamie Jones, Patrick Topping, Solardo, Skream, Annie Mac, Derrick Carter, Pete Tong, MK, Todd Terry, Seth Troxler, The Martinez Brothers, Steve Lawler, Hot Since 82, Eats Everything, Darius Syrossian,Micheal Bibi, Alan Fitzpatrick, wAFF,  Dimitri From Paris, Kenny Dope, Low Steppa, Dan Shake amongst dozens of House musics elite. Loopseque 8 is a logical evolution of the wheel-based sequencers idea.

Thanks to the modern iPad capabilities, we were able to implement much more effects, more audio channels, improved graphics and many other features, the chief among which is the ability to mix projects like they do it with tracks in DJ's music apps.

New abilities to influence on composition progress opens up unlimited potential for improvisation while mixing tracks. 

Loopseque 8 is back with rounded beat machine, percussion drum sequencer, the ability to change samples, patterns on the run, use effects, filters, etc to easily create musical atmosphere that you like. 

You can record sessions, use audio / copy paste or AudioBus to work with created audio material outside Loopseque 8 application.

Musical Influences and Purpose
I am a composer influenced by video game music, film, hip-hop, pop, fusion jazz, and techno. Inspired by composers like Hamauzu, Sakimoto, Uematsu, and Kanno, I strive to create music that stands alone without visuals, emphasizing listener experience through Gestalt principles. My compositions aim to evoke "Aha!" moments using unusual harmonic progressions, leading to goosebumps (Galvanic Skin Response) and their associated health benefits. This approach aligns with my belief in the positive emotional impact of well-crafted music.

Theoretical Approach
My unique theoretical framework explicitly utilizes Gestalt principles to evoke strong emotional responses like heart-racing, tears, or goosebumps. This framework aligns with a humanist philosophy, focusing on well-being and the universal tension/release phenomena in music. By acknowledging how our brains fill in gaps and seek equilibrium, I aim to create music that universally resonates with listeners, enhancing their emotional and physical health.

Philosophical Stance
I oppose postmodernism, advocating for art that objectively enhances well-being. My approach is rooted in universal human neurobiology, aiming to generate positive emotive experiences with measurable health benefits. Art, for me, is a powerful tool for societal impact, promoting cooperation, trust, and overall well-being.

Compositional Process
I compose using Gestalt principles, starting with an idea in a MIDI sequencer and refining it through trial and error. This method helps stabilize unconventional harmonic progressions, ensuring the final piece resonates deeply with listeners. Inspired by composers like Hitoshi Sakimoto, I embrace this meticulous process to achieve the desired emotional impact.

Science in Art
My musical philosophy draws from Japanese video game composers and neuroscientist V.S. Ramachandran's "Art and the Brain." Ramachandran's work on peak shift and universal aesthetic laws informs my belief in the power of Gestalt principles. By challenging sociological biases, I aim to create music that transcends cultural barriers and is universally appreciated.

Special Education Applied to Art
As a special educator, I apply these principles in teaching music composition to students in urban schools, using MIDI sequencing software. My goal is to scaffold their understanding, guiding them from simple to sophisticated musical concepts. This approach nurtures their creativity and emotional expression.

I hold a B.A. and M.A. in Music Composition from New York University and an M.A. in Special Education from Teacher's College, Columbia University. Maxwell Miller and Benny M formed No Big Deal in early 2011. The two are constantly engineering new sounds that push the boundaries of "genre". 

Coming from different musical backgrounds, Maxwell and Benny both have unique visions for what the future of music will hold. Maxwell was born playing the piano. Classically trained to the highest level, he dabbled in hip hop and experimental production until he found his niche. Benny has been writing and singing since the age of 8. When the two met, their mutual love of electronic music heavily influenced their production style.

24yr old Watts, California Native Foreign grow up on 104th and Graham around the corner from the Jordan Downs Housing Projects. Growing up in a poverty stricken area Foreign uses his music to tell his story about gang activity, drugs, guns, and women as an outlet to his current situation. When asked about the origin of his name he shrugged and said, "Really my moms inspired it. She invested her money in larger and more legit investments. She gave me my first foreign car and I just had a thing for them ever since. Now every wheel I touch got to be foreign now. When I go buy a whip people don't even ask what I'm getting they already know.Shit I got foreign outside right now. And ever since then my family my mafias all begin to regard to me as Foreign. Foreign's musical influences are: Gucci Mane, Lil Boosie, Chief Keef, and other artist that relate to his situation. When asked what drives him to do his music he replied, "I got to do this shit i got to do it for my peoples. I don't have friends so all the lives I'm going to change its really going to matter. My family...my section... all them cup of noodle nights, all them nights I was up trappin steady chasing dat bag...shit and most importantly me."

Geronimo (Mescalero-Chiricahua: Goyaałé [kòjàːɬɛ́] "the one who yawns"; June 16, 1829 – February 17, 1909) was a prominent leader from the Bedonkohe band of the Chiricahua Apache tribe. From 1850 to 1886 Geronimo joined with members of three other Chiricahua Apache bands—the Chihenne, the Chokonen and the Nednhi—to carry out numerous raids as well as resistance to US and Mexican military campaigns in the northern Mexico states of Chihuahua and Sonora, and in the southwestern American territories of New Mexico and Arizona. Geronimo's raids and related combat actions were a part of the prolonged period of the Apache-American conflict, that started with American settlement in Apache lands following the end of the war with Mexico in 1848. The Apache-American conflict was itself a direct outgrowth of the much older Apache-Mexican conflict which had been ongoing in the same general area since the beginning of Mexican/Spanish settlement in the 1600s.

Geronimo was not counted a chief among the Apache.[2][3] At any one time, only about 30 to 50 Apaches would be numbered among his personal following.[3] However, since he was a superb leader in raiding and revenge warfare he frequently led numbers larger than his own following.[3] Among Geronimo's own Chiricahua tribe many had mixed feelings about him. While respected as a skilled and effective leader of raids or warfare, he emerges as not very likable, and he was not widely popular among the other Apache.[3] Nevertheless, Apache people stood in awe of Geronimo's "powers" which he demonstrated to them on a series of occasions. These powers indicated to other Apaches that Geronimo had super-natural gifts that he could use for good or ill. In eye-witness accounts by other Apaches, Geronimo was able to become aware of distant events as they happened,[4] and he was able to anticipate events that were in the future.[5] He also demonstrated powers to heal other Apaches.[6]

During Geronimo's final period of conflict from 1876 to 1886 he "surrendered" three times and accepted life on the Apache reservations in Arizona.[7] Reservation life was confining to the free-moving Apache people, and they resented restrictions on their customary way of life.[8]

In 1886, after an intense pursuit in Northern Mexico by U.S. forces that followed Geronimo's third 1885 reservation "breakout", Geronimo surrendered for the last time to General Nelson Miles at Skeleton Canyon, just north of the Mexican/American boundary. Miles treated Geronimo as a prisoner of war and acted promptly to remove Geronimo first to Fort Bowie, then to the railroad at Bowie Station, Arizona where he and 27 other Apaches were sent off to join the rest of the Chiricahua tribe which has been previously exiled to Florida.[9] This prompt action prevented the Arizona civil authorities from intervening to arrest and try Geronimo for the death of the many Americans who had been killed during the previous decades of raiding.[10][11] The Chiricahuas remained at Fort Pickens in Florida until 1888 when they were relocated to Mt. Vernon Barracks in Alabama.[12] In 1894 the Chiricahuas, including Geronimo were relocated at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where they built villages scattered around the post based on kindred groups.[13] Geronimo, like other Apaches, was given a plot of land on which he took up farming activities.[14]

In his old age, Geronimo became a celebrity. He appeared at fairs, including the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis, where he reportedly rode a ferris wheel and sold souvenirs and photographs of himself. However, he was not allowed to return to the land of his birth. He rode in President Theodore Roosevelt's 1905 inaugural parade.[15]

Geronimo died at the Fort Sill hospital in 1909.[16] He was still a prisoner of war. He is buried at the Fort Sill Indian Agency Cemetery surrounded by the graves of relatives and other Apache prisoners of war.

Biography: Jens Bond



Jens Bond has carved a niche for himself in the crowded world of electronic music through his exceptional ear for finely crafted, balanced rhythms. As a result, the Berlin based DJ and producer is much in demand, both for his skills in rocking dance-floors and for his sublime studio productions. 

Bringing beats to life is his calling card - percussion and grooves are arranged with intense attention to detail, without sacrificing the underlying funk that marks his sound. 

 The roots run deep - Jens was always devoted to music and began his first musical steps as a drummer for several bands. Following his move to Berlin he became an active member of the electronic music scene, his solid musical background and feeling for rhythm directly influenced his success as a DJ and producer.  As a result, he’s much in demand at top clubs and events in Berlin and further afield. 

Much of his success could be ascribed to his well-tuned ear for the right sound at the right time, along with a sixth sense for rhythmic subtlety. Crisp rhythm pattern and hypnotic melodies have become a signature of his own productions and have led to various releases on some of Berlin’s most prolific labels, including POKER FLAT, SENDER and HIGHGRADE, and UK imprint IMMIGRANT RECORDS.  Working between the boundaries of house and techno, Jens’ tracks are marked by an electronic funk that thrills dance floors time and time again.  What’s more, his releases with Benno Blome (as Bond & Blome) and collaborations with Guido Schneider have produced some sublime and highly popular tracks. With current releases on CADENZA LAB, CITYFOX and AUDIOMATIQUE, his sound continues to develop and reach new audiences, while his work as an in-demand remixer has led to projects with the THOUGHTLESS and HYPERCOLOUR labels. For the near future he has scheduled some interesting collaborations with his friends Guido Schneider and Jacob Phono, which are sure to raise the bar once again. Keep your eyes and ears open!
