Motohiro Kawashima is a Tokyo-based game composer and DJ, best known for his work on the legendary Streets of Rage 2 & 3, which he co-composed alongside his friend and longtime collaborator, Yuzo Koshiro. His work is known for its experimental and techno-influenced style, most notably on the genre-defying and entirely unclassifiable soundtrack to Streets of Rage 3, which continues to astonish and perplex listeners over 30 years later.

In 2017, Kawashima was reunited with Koshiro to tour the music of the Streets of Rage trilogy in live venues across the World and shortly afterwards began working on his first solo album.

This vinyl edition showcases Kawashima’s first ever non-soundtrack albums, combining the previously self-released Prepared Wave (2019) and Acrobatizm (2023) into one package. Throughout these works, Kawashima explores and blends different styles of electronic music, drawn from his decades of watching Western trends enthusiastically from afar, while retaining his own unique style and the sense of playful experimentalism for which he first became known.

This is the first track I ever made an arrangement of in FL Studio. What a great little song.

Sometimes I feel like Jaller Locobolt and Robert Benfer exude the same energy. You'd blink and both of them would meet in the Zero Gravity Zone in a cardboard box. I wonder if both of them are the same man.

I hear Jaller is still in the ocean somewhere under Voya Nui. How can he breathe down there with the lungs that he totally has? I wish that Seven guy would answer these questions as I lay awake staring my ceiling at 5 AM.
