For Wisconsin based producer, vocalist and artist Nathan Blanck, this is at the core of what it means to make music for him as well as how he hopes those listening to him will feel. Blanck’s early musical influences, singing in church and various vocal ensembles, were defined by community and the sharing of songs. Discovering electronic music through artists such as Flume, Odesza, and Aphex Twin, Nathan felt distinctively drawn to the genre as it challenged much of his classical upbringing and offered a space free of boundaries and ripe for experimentation. With his focus on granulated distorted dissonance, airy vocals, and lush large synths, Philia’s music is sure to invoke inner wandering. While also producing serotonin filled thoughts and friendly environments for all to listen to together.
