ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੫ ॥
Shalok, Fifth Mehla:

ਹਰਣਾਖੀ ਕੂ ਸਚੁ ਵੈਣੁ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਜੋ ਤਉ ਕਰੇ ਉਧਾਰਣੁ ॥
ਹੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਸੱਚੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਉੱਧਾਰ ਕਰੇਗੀ;
O deer-eyed bride, I speak the Truth, which shall save you.

ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਚਨ ਤੁਮ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਛਬੀਲੀ ਪਿਰੁ ਤੈਡਾ ਮਨ ਸਾਧਾਰਣੁ ॥
ਹੇ ਸੁੰਦਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣ—ਤੇਰਾ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਰਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ
Listen to these beautiful words, O beauteous bride; your Beloved Lord is your mind's only support.

ਦੁਰਜਨ ਸੇਤੀ ਨੇਹੁ ਰਚਾਇਓ ਦਸਿ ਵਿਖਾ ਮੈ ਕਾਰਣੁ ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਕੇ) ਤੂੰ ਦੁਰਜਨ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ, ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਾਂ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਕੀਹ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈ ।
You have fallen in love with an evil person; tell me - show me why!

ਊਣੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਝੂਣੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਵਿਹੂਣੀ ॥
ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਗੱਲੇ ਘੱਟ ਨਹੀ ਹੈਂ, ਕਿਸੇ ਗੁਣੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈਂ,
I lack nothing, and I am not sad or depressed; I have no deficiency at all.

ਪਿਰੁ ਛੈਲੁ ਛਬੀਲਾ ਛਡਿ ਗਵਾਇਓ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਕਰਮਿ ਵਿਹੂਣੀ ॥
ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਭੈੜੀ ਮੱਤੇ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਾਂਕਾ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ।
I abandoned and lost my fascinating and beautiful Husband Lord; in this evil-mindedness, I have lost my good fortune.

ਨਾ ਹਉ ਭੁਲੀ ਨਾ ਹਉ ਚੁਕੀ ਨਾ ਮੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੋਸਾ ॥
(ਹੇ ਸਖੀ!) ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚਾ ਉੱਤਰ ਸੁਣ ਲੈ—ਮੈਂ ਭੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ, ਮੈਂ ਉਕਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਧੀ, ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਦੋਸ ਨਹੀਂ,
I am not mistaken, and I am not confused; I have no egotism, and commit no offense.

ਜਿਤੁ ਹਉ ਲਾਈ ਤਿਤੁ ਹਉ ਲਗੀ ਤੂ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਚੁ ਸੰਦੇਸਾ ॥
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਪਾਸੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਓਧਰ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹਾਂ ।
As You have linked me, so I am linked; listen to my true message.

ਸਾਈ ਸੋੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਸਾਈ ਭਾਗਣਿ ਜੈ ਪਿਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
ਉਹੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਸੋਹਾਗ-ਭਾਗ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, 
She alone is the blessed soul-bride, and she alone is fortunate, upon whom the Husband Lord has showered His Mercy.

ਪਿਰਿ ਅਉਗਣ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਗਵਾਏ ਗਲ ਸੇਤੀ ਲਾਇ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥
ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਔਗੁਣ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਸੰਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ।
Her Husband Lord takes away all her faults and mistakes; hugging her close in His embrace, He embellishes her.

ਕਰਮਹੀਣ ਧਨ ਕਰੈ ਬਿਨੰਤੀ ਕਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਵੈ ਵਾਰੀ ॥
ਮੈਂ ਭਾਗ-ਹੀਣ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਕਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਕਦੋਂ ਵਾਰੀ ਆਵੇਗੀ?
The unfortunate soul-bride makes this prayer: O Nanak, when will my turn come?

ਸਭਿ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਮਾਣਹਿ ਰਲੀਆ ਇਕ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਾਂ ਮੌਜਾਂ ਮਾਣ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੀ (ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ) ਇਕ ਰਾਤ ਦੇਹ ।੧।
All the blessed soul-brides celebrate and make merry; bless me as well with a night of bliss, O Lord. ||1||

Waaheguru is the Truth 

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀਉ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੈ
Waaheguru is Omnipresent

ਹਕ ਪਰਵਰ ਹਕ ਕੇਸ਼ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਰਾਇ ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਸੱਚ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਨਹਾਰ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚ ਦੀ ਧਾਰਨੀ ਵੀ ਹਨ ।
Guru Kartaa Har Raaye was the nourisher and the anchor for  truth;

ਸੁਲਤਾਨ ਹਮ ਦਰਵੇਸ਼ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਰਾਇ ॥੮੭॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਸੁਲਤਾਨ ਵੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਵੇਸ਼ ਵੀ ।
He was royalty as well as a mendicant. (87) 

ਫ਼ੱਯਾਜ਼ੁਦਾਰੈਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਰਾਇ
ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਜਹਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਨਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
Guru Har Rai is the bewtower for both the worlds,

ਸਰਵਰੇ ਕੌਨੈਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਰਾਇ ॥ ੮੮ ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਦਾ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਹੈ ।
Guru Kartaa Har Rai is the chief of both this and the next worlds. (88)

ਹਕ ਵਾਸਫ਼ਿ ਅਕਰਾਮ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਰਾਇ
ਰੱਬ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
Even the Akaalpurakh is a connoisseur of the boons granted by Guru Har Rai,

ਖ਼ਾਸਾਂ ਹਮਾਂ ਬਰਕਾਮ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਰਾਇ ॥ ੮੯ ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਖਾਸ ਲੋਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹਨ । 
All special persons become successful only because of Guru Har Rai (89)

ਸ਼ਾਹਨ ਸ਼ਹਿ ਹਕ ਨਸਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਰਾਇ
ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੱਚ ਦੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈ,
The discourses of Guru Har Rai are the royalty of 'truth',

ਫ਼ਰਮਾਂ ਦੇਹਿ ਨੋਹ ਤਬਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਰਾਇ ॥ ੯੦ ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਨੌਂ ਆਸਮਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ।
And, Guru Har Rai is commanding all the nine skies. (90)

ਗਰਦਨ ਜ਼ਨਿ ਸਰਕਸ਼ਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਰਾਇ
ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਬਾਗ਼ੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰਫਿਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਕਲਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
Guru Kartaa Har Rai is the one to sever the heads of the rebels and arrogant tyrants (from their bodies),

ਯਾਰਿ ਮੁਤਜ਼ੱਰ ਆਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਰਾਇ ॥ ੯੧ ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਸਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਯਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ ।
On the other hand, He is the friend and support of the helpless and the destitute, (91)
