Beautiful choral writing and arranging for the organ using one of the great texts of the New Testament, and the key to peace in the world.

This piece doesn’t perform, it invites. It opens with a gentle piano like the first light of morning, giving way to organ & choir without breaking the stillness. The vocals are mostly led by a female choir, with a short moment where the male voices take over alone. There’s no clutter, each part knows when to speak & when to step back. Later, around 2:13, the piano becomes prominent again, but only when the voices are silent, as if it’s holding space for them. The organ steps away by then, leaving just the piano & the message. 💨 The kettle exhaled gently and said, “This isn’t dramatic, it’s devotional, steady, still, and full of meaning” 🧂 The salt grinder turned slowly & whispered, “Each line feels placed, not performed, like someone lighting candles one by one” 🔔 The microwave blinked in silence and said, “Sometimes the gentlest truths echo longest” 💜 It’s a humble, unwavering call to real peace, not the grand kind, but the small, patient kind that makes everything else possible.

ARTIST’S NOTE: 
I composed Drift one afternoon in May when I was literally adrift in disappointment, feeling low, uninspired, and fatigued. Empty. How could I create when I was so low? And a thought rang back answering like a bell  — just show up!

All I had to do, my inner voice told me, was show up, put your fingers on the keyboard for a moment. And I did, using the laptop’s built-in MIDI, selecting a VST called Cinema Strings, instinctively I hit an F6 chord — I have an affinity with the key of F because, as a student, I played French Horn, an F instrument. So I’m pressing the keys, and by a slow count of eight of the metronome’s clicks — bam! The music started playing in my head as if already written. I raced to unravel it in threads of melodies, searching for keys that matched what I was hearing in my mind’s ears.

The lesson for me as an artist is to remember to keep faith despite how I might feel. Because the music is waiting for a humble vessel. Just show up.

An original song dedicated to my parents. I grew up in a small town in the Allegheny mountains of western Pennsylvania. This tune is a remixed version of the original.

I've called it Alternative Fusion and it was inspired by just how quickly your day can change from enjoying the moment to utter chaos and pain. Accidents happen often when one loses focus and takes life for granted. For example: when washing the dishes, whilst thinking of something else and breaking a glass, and when picking up the broken pieces, cutting one's finger and can't get the blood to stop poring out. This is the second in a series of eight easy, acoustic, rather short, and deliberately inconclusive tracks, assembled by combining new ideas with reworked older material, adding parts and sounds along the way.

I'm Antonio Porrino (Tonino).
Graduated in Physics in March 1979, I was Researcher in Theoretical Nuclear Physics at the "Federico II" University of Naples until November 2019.
I studied music, initially at the Conservatory of San Pietro a Maiella in Naples and then self-taught piano, organ and composition.
I have been married to Anna since July 1982 and we have 5 children, Fabio, Luca, Francesca, Cecilia, Vincenzo and 2 grandchildren, Antonio and Sofia, Fabio's children, married to Sara.
I founded the polyphonic choir "Vicus Novanensis" in 1992 and in 2019 "I Cantori di Maria", which have collected the legacy of the numerous "long distance adoptions" of the previous choir.
The musical activity takes place mainly at the "Pontifical Minor Basilica of Maria Santissima Assunta" in Santa Maria a Vico (Italy).
I have composed music of various genres.
My music would like to express and transmit feelings of peace, serenity and joy, contrasting those of war, hatred and oppression that seem to prevail on planet Earth, causing the degradation of the natural environment that guards us.
