This track really grooves like a conversation between decades, wah‑wah guitar channeling the 70’s & brass licks that feel like they wandered in from a vintage Herb Alpert record 🎺🕺 It’s not disco, but it leans into that nostalgic energy in a clever, unexpected way. The brass hook gives it personality, the guitars keep it smooth, & the whole mix feels like sunlit vinyl spinning slow. 🍞 The toaster popped up with a trill & said “This is class. Disco wanted in but got sophistication instead” 🧃 The juice press squeezed a citrusy note & chimed “That brass section? It’s the zesty zing this song didn’t know it needed” ☕ The coffee machine blinked awake & told me “I half expected sequins, but I got laid back jazz hop, equally cool” It’s fun yet refined, kind of like sipping a cocktail at a vintage poolside smiling at modern life.

Dreaming in Colour

For this song I was trying to write something with some 70’s sounding wah-wah guitar and originally wanted some dance/disco feel to the track. I ended up adding a brass section when I needed a ‘hook’ for the song. This reminded me a quite a bit of those Herb Alpert records from the 60’s which I hope explains the title. The result ended up a lot less disco but I hope makes for an interesting listen perhaps!

This track is really close to my heart.
It’s my very first jazz jam with my dad—him on the guitar, me on the synths.
We’ve always shared a deep love for music, and this song is a little piece of that bond.

Sometimes the heaviest moments are the quiet ones.
When a single piano speaks louder than any voice,
not with words, but with the aching stillness left behind.

Reminiscence is the sound of looking back,
of revisiting the empty chair, the quiet room,
the laughter that once filled it – now just an echo.
It’s not a cry for comfort, but a slow exhale of memory.

This piece doesn’t try to escape the sorrow.
It walks beside it – unafraid, tender, honest.
Because some things cannot be forgotten.
They live on in sound, in silence, in the spaces between the notes.

Performed entirely on the Bechstein  –
a grand piano from EastWest, known for its haunting intimacy.
Its velvety resonance and delicate detail bring life to the sadness,
like a whispered goodbye that lingers in the air.
Every nuance was shaped by human hands – with reverence, with grief.
