Remixing all these events together ... was at the time when I made it a tough creative pill to swallow but picking it up again and making part 2 was quite the Mindfuck and just like Alice I fell down a deep musical rabbithole (a bit more then I wanted to) You can judge for yourself when it's finished and online. Greeting earthlings and welcome to my 6th video offering of spooky songs for this October! 👻! This song I wrote in 2020 for the first Halloween during the pandemic, those were scary times indeed! It wasn't recorded too well, very distorted and punk rock sounding, and I'm singing it so that should send chills up and down your spine already!🎃 I'm off-key a lot on this song and I may wind up deleting it in a few days! It originally wasn't a Halloween song but I turned into one and tweaked the lyrics a little bit and made a spooky video for it! The video is brand new, I finished it a few months ago. It has all kinds of spooky critters in it, the usual cast of horrors, vampires, zombies, killer clowns, yada, yada, and further yada! The lyrics I feel are some of my best, musically I could have done better. (I know but I got the olds! It's very Lo-Fi and old school and I re-used several clips I had used in earlier videos but who's counting right?)

This cover of the CCR version of this Screaming Jay Hawkins classic began as an idea Josh had for Eclectic Collective putting on a musical Halloween costume. He was inspired by his favorite band, Phish, who cover an entire album every Halloween as a musical costume. Although, which song we covered was up for debate from the start. 
  Once we decided on a song, Josh laid down the skeleton for it on his '71 SG. Once we had a framework to work with, Ken laid down his rocking drums, followed by Josh completing the rhythm section by adding his trusty P-bass. Even though the song was now in its infancy, Carl summoned all his Halloween spirit for his dynamic vocal performance.  
  Now that it was sounding like a real song, JJ dropped both the key piano part, as well as his expressive organ in there, too. Mark wasn't far behind, adding his magic via the sax to the solo section, and strings in the third verse. Stephen came through with the spooky tremolo guitar and the fiery first half of the guitar solo in the solo section right after. And to put the cherry on the musical sundae, Tez brought the lightning down for the second half of the guitar solo, as well as the solo work that leads the whole way to the end.
  We all enjoyed bringing this classic song back to life, and doing it in the spirit of what may be the most fun holiday on the callendar. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it. Happy Halloween!

Performed on the legendary NOIRE piano (Native Instruments, VST), a custom grand recorded in Hall 3 at Funkhaus Berlin. The sound moves between “Pure” (clear, present) and “Felt” (soft, muted, almost like a whisper), so every note sits right in front of you.

The mood is vulnerable, reflective, but not without hope. The piano quietly says: “You just stand there,” and the melody drifts through sadness, closeness, fragility, and small traces of light. A lot of space, a lot of air, no distraction.

Musical style: minimalist solo piano with a cinematic feel. No beats, no layering – just keys, played slowly on purpose so every tone can breathe.
