I'm testing how to make a huge pad by running a simple keyboard sound through a reverb pedal and then into a delay pedal. The Korg Minilogue synth has almost no decay so the notes are really short...until it reaches the efx pedals :)

RETURN TO THE GRID
In 1989 the creator of The Grid disappears. Haunted by this mystery we are drawn to a familiar place, The Arcade. Soon we are pulled into a digital world, one which has become more advanced than we could have ever imagined. This cyber frontier is filled with unknown dangers that must be fought to survive. With corrupted creations and unique beings born inside this digital world; it is hard to decipher friend from foe. It seems we will need every scrap of help to traverse this cyber universe, find the creator of The Grid and escape alive.

This album acts as a direct continuation to my album ‘The Grid’ from 2016, however it also acts as a spiritual replacement soundtrack to Tron Legacy. In my head this is what I would have done with the soundtrack to the second film in the Tron series. Taking inspiration from the elements and instruments that were used in the original score but with a few modern techniques, styles, effects and my own spin on implementation.
The album is comprised of 24 tracks, with each track name giving a slight/blatant hint at what part of the story each is meant to represent.
Ranging from fast paced and aggressive to slower and more contemplative; this is not about genre, nor is it about style. Instead this album is about how music can make you feel. How a digital creation can translate into an analogue body.

Disappearance - Occams Laser

Top Secret Audio Drama meets Berlin School of Electronic Music. That is Telestation Alpha.

All analogue synthesizers and sound design. It takes inspiration from the mysterious Number Stations from the Cold War.

In the first chapter we got the assignment and the first transmission about this strange organization Trianngle9. In the next chapter of the story we are on a submarine somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. And you can embark on this journey of mysterious spies and old analog synthesizers.

If you like the show Stranger Things and 70s/80s movies then this will be something for you. The genre is somewhere between Synthwave, Retrowave, Retro Synth and the Berlin School of Electronic Music.

The musical inspiration comes from electronic music pioneers like Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno, Klaus Schulze, Edgar Froese, S U R V I V E, Else Marie Pade and Laurie Spiegel

Underwater Creatures

Composing mostly Synthwave. Inspired by Pop, Rock, Oriental and Classical Music. Maintainer of "Synthwave for the Car", a well known Spotify playlist (submissions via Submithub).

All we know about Telestation Alpha is that it’s one of the last and very secret number stations. It has been sending out transmissions since the 1960s. 

No one knows what the purpose of the station is – other than it is probably part of a secret organization that may have survived the cold war. 

It has just been discovered here in 2019 – so we have released all we know about it…maybe someone can help regarding the purpose and meaning of this.

All sounds come from analog synthesizers. No software instruments have been used. Everything is played and created live. The inspiration comes from electronic music pioneers like Tangerine Dream, Edgar Froese, Klaus Schulze, Brian Eno, Survive and Kraftwerk. 

Telestation Alpha is music like the electronic pioneers played it in the early days.


But really…who is Telestation Alpha? 
Two possibilities: either this comes from the cold war in the 60s – or it’s a product of Martin Ahm’s imagination…no one really knows for sure.

Martin also releases music under the name Code Elektro (Iceberg Records/Lakeshore). He has released 3 albums on digital and vinyl - and has been nominated for several Gaffa Awards for Best Danish Electronic Release (2015, 2016 and 2017).
