I Can't Express My Rage

This is one of my first experiments with the amazing Famitracker, a sound tracker made for creating NES/Famicom music.
Very useful and funny to create Videogames music but also for reinterpret every genre of music.

I've been loving Queen since my childhood, and I totally go crazy for Brian May's overlapping guitar style. "Procession" is one of the most amazing album intros ever. So this is my "chiptune tribute" to one of the greatest bands in the multiverse.

I like this song solely because it is in an odd time signature; 10/8 is pretty strange but it does sound hella good.

Despite this being able to run on almost any YM2413, I made this using the Famicom's VRC7 chip, which is a trimmed-down YM2413, which itself is a cost-reduced YM3812. Crazy, huh.

This is probably my first song where I could tell that the inspiration came from actual pop music (particularly the band chvrches).

Also, I wrote the parts during the first 37 seconds of this song without listening to it (hence the name of the song). That was a fun exercise.

One of my favorite 90s hits, now as an NES-styled jam! I started working on this a couple of days ago and actually already uploaded it as an unfinished project, so here's the finished version, now with verses and a few little tweaks to make it sound more spot on.

Made using a Winebottled version of FamiTracker on a MacBook Pro. I had a lot of fun making this, as 50s doo-wop is one of my favorite genres of music- and this is one of my favorite songs in that genre! I'm really proud of it as well, as the backing chord harmonies are a lot more rhythmically complex than a lot of my previous 8-bit covers. I created the thumbnail image using a crappy online image editor, and the custom Mario sprites were also made by me. If you enjoyed this, then consider checking out some of my other music– for instance, this is only one of several other chiptune covers I've created, the likes of which you can here in the playlists linked above. Made through Famitracker using the VRC6 module in probably less than 12 hours. I actually started working on this a month or so ago, but I just sort of gave up on it after like 5 minutes. Today I ran into it again on my laptop and decided "eh... why not?" so I cranked the rest of it out throughout the course of today. Blondie has to be one of my favorite early new wave bands alongside The Police, so this was a fun one to work on. Hope you all enjoy it! Hehe... more like BITTIE Eilish... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Created this in FamiTracker via the VCR6 module, and within the span of around 4-6 hours during school and at home instead of doing homework. Most of my other covers I've published have been of older pop songs from the 50s-90s, so it was interesting to take a shot at a more contemporary- no less really fun doing one of my favorite songs from the past year. I decided to try some new stuff with this one– particularly using custom-made DPCM samples for the "I'm the baaaaad guy... Duh!" part. I also made a bit of a bold move and decided to use the triangle section for the main melody in the chorus instead of the bass part like it's usually used for, which I think paid off surprisingly in the end. This was a fun cover to work on, and I'm proud of how clean-sounding it ultimately turned out. I know I probably think this about every latest chiptune remix I make, but I'd have to consider this my best, or at least one of my best covers I've made in the past 2 or so years. Hope you enjoy it!!

Here's an NES-styled rendition of one of my favorite songs ever! Seriously, love Whitney Houston... but anyways, this one's been a a bit of a long time coming. I started it back at the beginning of the year (before the pandemic happened of course), and posted a few infrequent updates to r/chiptunes on Reddit. I actually finished it a couple of months ago, but I've just procrastinated a ton in terms of actually uploading it. Either way, here it finally is– let me know what you think of it! I put a ton of effort into making it one of my best FT covers yet, and I have to say I'm super proud of how it turned out in the end.
