Something That’s Greater Than Jonah is Here

Jonah was sent by God to Nineveh
To tell the people to turn back to God
But he did not obey, went far away
He fled away from God.

God told a great fish to swallow him up.
Three days and three nights he stayed in the fish
He was repenting, desperately praying,
God told the fish to vomit him out.

Something that’s greater than Jonah is here
He spoke God's message and made it so clear
To this generation He is the sign.
He is the Son of Man.

Three days, three nights in the heart of the earth
Death cannot hold Him and He rose from it
He’s now pneumatic, He's so terrific
He lives in me as the Spirit now.

Christ, the real Jonah brought God's word to man
He came to mankind to make known God's plan
He came to save sinners, announcing peace
He is the Peacemaker.

God wants us to be the "Jonahs" today
