Jamming With Malzof returns for Ep. 2 with music released by Chicago-based label Guidance Recordings. The label was active from 1996-2004, with a few recently restored archives from Callisto/DKMA z”l. The label had a focus on Deep House & many other genres, including a cultivation of “lounge” and atmospheric. All tracks shared are from Guidance, except for one track “Day Dreaming” played by one of the original label founders, Spencer Kincy/Gemini, who quickly left the label and released music elsewhere, such as on Peacefrog due to sonic and other differences.

Jamming With Malzof Radio is an exploration of and tribute to dance music labels & artists releasing tracks from the 80s to the early aughts. Jamming With Malzof radio will hone in on a specific label, affiliated artists and their musical connections, sharing some of the context for the music and insights from your host @JMALLisART (ig/twitter) @Malzof (soundcloud)

Ron Luther is a Vancouver based producer, synthesist and designer who works relentlessly to create new sound through the exploration of novel methods and instrumentation. He got his start in electronic music as one half of Datataste, alongside Adrian Long AKA Haptic Feedback. Together, they became known for their exploratory improvised live sets which ranged from textural spaces through to pulsating techno. 

Ron has dedicated himself over the past two years to minimizing his setup and refining his process, creating conditions for tightly channeled creative flow. The sounds that emerge blend ideas from dance and ambient traditions into standing waves that lure the listener into a beat oriented hypnotic space defined by delicate movement, tension and light.

A crunchy club-ready mix from Berlin-based producer Aroent who exercises his approach to improvisation featuring tracks from Leese, Splash Pattern, Forest Drive West, Bluetoof, Amaliah and more. 

Speaking about the mix, Aroent says, "This mix is mostly inspired by the club nights I've been doing lately and driven by my attempt to redefine my thoughts on club music. Quite a lot of variety in my opinion, some ups and downs that I've been really enjoying lately, less thinking and more improvisation than usual in my mixes."

Aroent is a Thessaloniki-born and Berlin-based producer and DJ. Since 2020, he has released 'Say' EP on Infinite Machine including a Ploy remix, 'Eleese' EP on Awkwardly Social and a contribution on Athens UHD compilation on Trial&Error. With support from the likes of Ben UFO, Mor Elian, Rhyw, Gramrcy, BBC 6 Music, Resident Advisor, DJ Mag and more, Aroent has guested on shows such as NTS with Martha and Rinse France with Background and DJ Absurd.
