Lamb Rabbit

I had the pleasure of spinning an in-store, all-vinyl set at the very lovely Arawax Records in Union City, NJ a couple weeks ago (on 2/19/22) among some other great DJs. Partially because I was the only female artist on the lineup, and partially because it's important to me to highlight music made by women, I decided to do a set of all female artists, girl bands, and female fronted acts all on 45.

Genre-wise the mix is freeform, but expect to hear healthy doses of soul, pop, yé-yé, and chanson, mostly from the US, Canada (Quebec really), and France. Most cuts are from the '60s and '70s, but I did manage to sneak a couple of my own tracks in - and back to back, which I've never done before. >: ]

It's not by any means a technically perfect mix; there's a transition early on where a track came in a little too late, which killed me (oh the joys of 45 cueing), and another instance where one of my 45s had developed a warp mid-way through the track since the last time I'd listened, which has never even happened to me before.

But more important than its imperfections is the fact that it's brimming over with heart. Most of these tracks are very dear to me (you may even recognize a Heart True sample tucked in there), plus I had so much fun playing it, so I'm still very excited to share it here for you all.

Ahhh finally a new Safe Radio episode. 

Safe Radio S07E02 is the longest so far in the series - more specifically 5 hours and 31 minutes. It consists of 78 tracks that i've been listening to and playing out since last episode. As per usual we're riding from ambient over downtempo to club/dance music.

I've been wanting to put some of the tracks from this episode in my other mixes, but somehow couldn't crack the code until now. I'm obviously super excited about finding a way to finally get [ some of ] these tracks into one of my mixes. 

Big shout out to everyone who are sending messages and showing interest in my music and what I do. I hope you like this one too ;-)
