L'année 2023 a été celle de mes 30 ans, mais aussi des 10 ans du décès de mon père. Ce fut une année très éprouvante durant laquelle j'ai subi des maltraitances psychologiques et, dans l'urgence de quitter mon domicile où elles avaient lieu, je me suis retrouvé confronté à ma précarité économique m'empêchant pendant plusieurs mois d'avoir accès à un espace où me sentir en sécurité. Dans ce contexte, la musique a été mon seul espace de réconfort et, une fois ma situation apaisée, j'ai ressenti le besoin d'amorcer par le biais de différents médiums une sorte de bilan affectif et mémoriel. C'est donc par nécessité thérapeutique qu'une archéologie de mon histoire personnelle s'est mise en place au sein de ma pratique artistique et qu'ainsi des traces sonores intimes involontairement captées par différents appareils audios au cours de ma vie ont fait leur apparition. Une cassette audio enregistrée par mon père dans l'appartement où je suis né témoigne du noyau familial de mes deux premières années. Une introspection intime qu'il enregistra en 2006 sur son baladeur mp3 dessine la silhouette d'une existence à la dérive, mais dont des désirs subsistèrent jusqu'à son essoufflement. Un mémo vocal enregistré accidentellement en 2018 rapporte de l'oubli deux heures du quotidien du couple dont je faisais alors partie. Conjointement avec les recherches sonores et théoriques que je mène depuis 15 ans, cette exploration a vite concentré mon attention et a reprogrammé la trajectoire de ma pratique autour du sujet du temps (historique, intime, technologique, physique, métaphysique, souvenir, mémoire, deuil...).

Réminiscences est une pièce témoignant de ce besoin que je ressentis de donner forme aux souvenirs se rapportant à l'état émotionnel qu'invoquent chez moi les deuils que j'ai vécus et ce qu'il en reste. Par les découvertes des trois enregistrements accidentels et leur cohabitation avec des paysages sonores captés dans les lieux où j'ai habité au cours des dix dernières années, j'ai approché la question du temps intime en étant habité malgré moi par un imaginaire géologique, minéral, fait d'excavations obscures dont seule une spéléologie de la mémoire pouvait parcourir les boyaux. Au gré d'une guitare fantomatique, Réminiscences apparaît comme une expédition souterraine traversant des temporalités fragmentées, en révélant leurs porosités et, sous l'aspect d'une érosion des souvenirs, explorant des intimités irrésolues. Comme autant d'infiltrations spontanées et jaillissantes au hasard de fissures rocheuses, les événements se mêlent en défiant la chronologie et en suivant plutôt les cours affectifs et irrévérencieux de la mémoire individuelle. Au fil de mélodies spectrales et lancinantes, nous sommes emporté·e·s par les tentatives sans cesse réitérées au cours d'une vie d'ordonner la mémoire, de se la raconter malgré qu'elle ne cesse jamais elle-même de travailler, de se modeler. Contre toute attente, les temporalités s'entrelacent et les distinctions catégoriques entre le passé, le présent et le future deviennent obsolètes alors que la voix du père mort surgissant du haut-parleur fait soudainement savoir qu'elle subsiste intacte trente ans plus tard par celle de son fils qui en est l'étrange et exacte copie.
