Northern Sky is a Detroit/London-based collaborative formed in 2021, crafting ethereal music that blends dreamy soundscapes with cinematic depth. Their music strikes a delicate balance between melody, emotion, and magic, influenced by timeless artists like Nick Drake and Norah Jones, as well as modern acts such as Beach House and The National.

At the heart of Northern Sky is Rose White, whose voice, like a soft breeze at twilight, guides the band’s sound with transcendent beauty. Supported by Eric Stajda, Dan Kendall, Steve Baker, and Andrea Di Fiore—who weave intricate layers of guitar, bass, drums, piano, synth, cello, and violin—the band creates soundscapes that are both fragile and infinite.

Northern Sky’s songs are vignettes, like postcards from distant places, carrying echoes of fleeting yet eternal memories. Tracks like "Paper Flowers," "Swimming in the Rain," and "Aurora" explore love, loss, and the bittersweet passage of time. Indie Rock 'n' Roll with 90’s vibes and lover of all types of music. I'm proud to carry on my family's musical legacy with my brother Jamie on drums. 

My name is Nick Swettenham and I’ve been a musician all my life. Our late father Geoff and uncle Peter were part of the late 60s Rock ‘n’ Roll movement. Signed by The Beatles back in 1968 with their psychedelic band 'Grapefruit' (named by John Lennon) they’ve inspired me to get my music out to the world. 

Growing up as a teenager in the 90’s I was a huge fan of the Britpop era, as well as other great bands and artists 
 from around the world. Radiohead, Oasis, The Stereophonics, The Verve, Blur, REM, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Smiths, The Cure, The Stone Roses, Smashing Pumpkins, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, Travis, Coldplay, Counting Crows and so many more artists have been a huge influence in my sound.
