BAND BIO:

A five piece rock ensemble of the most unassuming yet talented array of musical hacks to grace a local stage. The entire band is comprised of almost middle aged. married dudes who just happen to be an Indie band.  A college professor, and four other band members who take music very seriously, but don't take themselves very seriously.  

Dinsdale has had moderate radio play on college stations around the mid west including Kansas State Univ student radio, and was profiled on the former major FM station, Alice 102.1, in Kansas City.  

Mainly poppy, guitar rock songs about relationships, the state of social class disparity, or struggles with personal introspection. The casual listeners often comment that we echo of Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, The Bravery, and even the Foo Fighters.   The band doesn't know which of these comparisons fits the best, we just know drinking Jamison and Strongbow makes for better songwriting and improved playing!  
We're notorious for being under the radar in the Kansas City music scene, not a very flashy outfit and often surprise music fans who happen to catch us live.  We write a ton of original material, play regular shows in KC, and don't have a label or really even pursuing one, for that matter.   The band was formed from the ashes of metal, cover bands, and a fledgling band called Newscastle (yeah we liked the beer and the name was cool).

Lead singer, Jeff Stalnaker, was born in Lakenheath, UK and has an extreme fondness for all things English, be it futbol, watching futbol, discussing futbol, or watching live futbol matches.  So of course the name of the band would have an English lean.   The name, Dinsdale, came up in a chat about the funniest things to come out of England, well Monty Python topped the list.  The name stuck and was an homage to the Monty Python character and it sounded funny, to us at least...it also happens to be a village in the UK.  Enough of that.  

We may be the only band who practice in the back of a sporting goods store and frequently kick shoe boxes out of the way to set up gear, we have random police officers walk in on rehearsals, and we practice approx 50 ft from a little dive bar ...so most songs go unfinished and practices cut short to go eat peanuts and sip PBR, but the band does eventually make it back to practice.

The one steady is that the practice door is always left open so the music is heard up and down the street.  Often times, random strangers have walked into a Dinsdale practice, liked what they heard, and became a fan of the band and attended shows!

We began collaborating with engineer, Joel Nanos @ Element Recording in early 2014 on the conception of the debut album, Mission 56.  We worked feverishly with Joel to completely restructure and rerecord existing tracks with a new and fresh Element Recording twist. Joel has a long resume of creating some of the best releases of the Indie KC music scene and fosters one of the coolest recording atmospheres for Kansas City bands. 

He's worked with Pat Monahan of Train, Chris Cornell, and Mumford & Sons to name a few, so we felt quite secure in his engineering and mentoring skills.   He took us on and pulled us together with incredible love and even harder labor to create our "sound", which is quite the task for any band, the act of finding what you do best and capturing it.   Especially for a band that had little or no experience "cutting" a major album with a "real" engineer in a "real" studio...the hours were long and frustrations ran high at times, until the magic appeared.  

Lennon Bone, formerly of HaHa Tonka, contributed some additional recording assistance throughout the album and also provided sneaky tambourine and hand "clap" tracks in the background.  

Joel Nanos helped us create Mission 56 with nothing flashy or any overproduced, auto tuned vocals or corporate money to make it sound like a Star Wars soundtrack.  It's our album and we share it.

*Guitar: I have been playing guitar since I was 10 years old. I specialise more in the rock/metal side but I am very experienced with other genres such as blues, funk and many more. Whereas I am more than capable of the flashy and technical ‘shredding’ such as sweep picking and tapping, I have a good sense of discipline and understand when and when it’s  not appropriate to use such techniques. I have a very high standard of equipment (Engl Amplification, Mastershop LAG and Gibson guitars) and I have a 7 string guitar if needed.

My guitar influences include: Stéphan Forté, Jeff Loomis, Gary Moore, B.B. King, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Lukather, Ritchie Blackmore, Paul Gilbert and Dave Gilmour.

*Bass: This is my second instrument but don’t let that put you off! I am fluent again in many styles as I am with the guitar, I am perfectly happy to drive a simple bass line or fill it out. I am also able to do various advanced techniques such as ‘slap and pop’ and even bass sweep picking. I am able to play 4, 5 and 6 string basses.

My bass influences include: Franck Hermanny, Geezer Butler, Roger Glover, Billy Sheehan and Lemmy Killmeister,

*Vocals: I am a powerful vocalist with a 5 octave vocal range. I predominantly sing clean specialising in belted chest voice and powerful falsetto but I can cater for some extreme vocals such as ‘vocal fry’. My voice is very much suited to rock ballads and European power metal but I am very adaptable to your needs.

My vocal influences include: Bruce Dickinson, Ronnie James Dio, Glenn Carter, Ann Wilson, Pasi Rantanen, Tobias Sammet, Ian Gillan, Tim Ripper Owens, Roy Kahn and Rob Halford

*Session Work:  Be it a stand in for a show or studio work - I am open to all kinds of session work. I am have my own transport and will travel provided my travel costs are covered - no job too small!

Pursuit's music has been compared to Kansas, Queensryche and Dream Theater with influences ranging from ELP and Yes to Rush and Metallica. A quote from Dan Wolfe, "Some groups I enjoyed listening to include Kansas, ELP, Rush and Yes. Although I enjoyed their sound, it seemed the lyrics were hollow. It became my desire to couple my music with lyrics that would glorify God. This is what God has called me to pursue." In this lost world, Pursuit's music is a real alternative to secular music. It appeals to the emotions and trials of all people in a positive Christian way. Their music paints a picture of Jesus' saving grace through powerful lyrics and scripture based teaching. Much can be taught through lyrics and even more can be taught when lyrics are paired with powerful music. Perhaps it is here that their music gets its personality. It's not just flashy musicianship, it's music that paints a picture.

The story of Green Light Morning started back when Aaron Bright (keyboards/backing vox) and Aaron Patrick (lead vox/guitar) met touring in previous bands the big creak and Oval Opus respectfully. They met when both bands had a song placed in the same Universal movie called Winter Break (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0261992/) starring Milo Ventimiglia, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Justin Urich. This led to their bands trading shows across the Midwest and up and down the east coast. This has offered Green Light Morning a quick uptake in initial fans despite the bands infancy.

After years of touring with their previous bands, their lives and families brought them to Cincinnati, Ohio. They started reflecting back on the road, touring, their fans and lives while collaborating as songwriters. After spending a year writing songs in their studio and playing open mics, they felt a genuine connection and decided it was time to take a few of their songs and release them to the world.

It was important to the Aaron’s that if they were going to reinvigorate their music career that they carefully craft the best recording they could. This led them to recording their first EP with producer Rich Stine at Fidelitorioum Recording studios in Kernersville, NC where legendary bands like REM, Ben Folds Five and Wilco recorded their initial albums. It was mixed by Micah Wilshire  (Mark Ballas, Pat McGee, Honor by August) and mastered by Brad Blackwood (Maroon 5, Alison Kraus, Sister Hazel, the Black Eyed Peas).  John Benham aka jb4 (drummer) had been working with the duo and jumped on board with the band at this time.

After hearing the results of their work the trio quickly knew they needed to form a band and the next logical move was to add in Ted Burger (guitarist) and Michael Theobald (bass) to the mix. In November 2011, Green Light Morning was born. A fresh new writing project based on story telling lyrics combined with soul and melodic hooks.  Whether Green Light Morning plays as a two/three piece or a full band their shows offer a honest and rememberable experience in which you will find yourself singing along.

String arranger, producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Mark Evitts has stamped an indelible imprint on Nashville since his arrival. Having toured as a fiddle, mandolin, guitar and piano player with such artists as Rodney Atkins, Jimmy Wayne, Jaida Dreyer, Dillon Hodges (Firekid), Bo Bice and many others, he has also become the foremost called upon string arranger and session violinist.
Most notably is his string and children’s choir arrangement and recording in Grammy Award-winning pop rock group Train‘s New Year’s Eve Time Square performance of John Lennon’s Imagine in 2013 and Evitts’ string arrangement and performance on the original song Voice In A Dream in NBC’s SMASH (later nominated for an Emmy in the Best Original Music category).
A Kentucky-native, Evitts began his classical music training at age twelve with Paducah Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Kathy McCann-Gardner. Attending Mark O’Connor’s Fiddle Camp (among others), Evitts continued to sharpen his abilities and broaden his style. In 2006, Evitts began touring with the band Oval Opus (now Scarlet Kings) until a move to Nashville offered him an opportunity to tour with Rodney Atkins as Atkins’ fiddle player.
He subsequently began touring with multiple artists, and, in 2010, officially ventured into the world of production as the musical director and producer for documentary Newport. Evitts’ abilities as a producer were further displayed in 2011, when he began touring with and producing German country artist Lisa- Marie Fischer. Sugar and Salt – his first project with Fischer released in 2012 – quickly went #1.
Mark Evitts has mastered multiple instruments (violin, mandolin, guitar and piano) and multiple roles (producer, songwriter and string arranger) consistently displaying flexibility between genres unmatched by other industry musicians.
