The Very Thought Of You

This song is often misunderstood. The seasons are metaphors of the seasons of life; youth (May) to old age (December). It's from the vantage point of an older man reflecting on flightiness of his courting days and now reflecting on how peaceful and precious are the shortening days with the love of his life. The track is a beautiful Party Tyme reproduction of a Gordon Jenkins arrangement.

September Song

There's nothing like a Cole Porter lyric. Add to that a his fabulous melodic gift and classic arrangement by Nelson Riddle,(written for Frank Sinatra and revisited by Micheal Buble,)and you have a timeless masterpiece! Every singer has a great time singing this classic standard from 1936. The music bed track is from KaraFun. The iconic instrumental trombone solo is a classic contribution to this Riddle arrangement.

I've Got You Under My Skin

This is, no doubt, a classic signature song of Tony Bennett. As such, I approached it with trepidation. The main reason I wanted to include it in my list it's because it's one of my all-time favorite songs. It was masterfully composed, and conveys such a powerful sentiment of a life-changing love so powerful, it just had to be expressed from the depths of the heart. KaraFun did an excellent job on the music track. This is certainly in the top 10 of the "songs I wish I wrote" list.

For Once In My Life

I love singing songs by Irving Berlin. The melody moves seamlessly through major in minor keys and never loses its coherence. This song was first song by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in the movie Follow the Fleet (1936). The music track  is a KaraFun reproduction of a snappy Count Basie arrangement from Sinatra's Capital years. so much fun to sing!

Let's Face the Music and Dance

This song turned 100 years old this year. It's still as fresh and stunningly beautiful as ever. I hope I did it justice. The track is from PartyTyme.

What'll I Do

This Rodgers and Hart show tune is from one of the last projects together, "I'd Rather be Right." The arrangement is so good. It's a really fun song with a shuffle beat that gets the fingers snapping.

Have You Met Miss Jones

I wrote this chorus based on a familiar biblical theme of Psalm 86. Worship is the expression of the acknowledgement of God as God. And as such, there is no one like him! "There is none like you, oh God"  is the foundational confession of all true worship. This is a demo sung by our Worship Leader at Christian Hill Community Church; Stephanie Rotella.

There's None Like You - Master

Schumann's Traumerei is, hands-down, his best known and widely loved piece. It is a study in simple perfection. Magical! I could only hope that my performance could even come close to a proper tribute. (The Piano is a Yamaha CLP-270. It's not the real thing, and it lacks in some of the desired subtleties, but it still has a sweet sound.)
