What can I say about “ Orbes De La Nuit”
Well, the name came months ago, the same time as 3759 in fact.  Back then, I didn’t know which set was going to happen first, as it turned out, then it was 3759, and then “Orbes”,  now fondly nicknamed, just sat quietly in the background, gnawing away at my consciousness.  I had no idea when it would step forward again, no clear understanding of what would happen on this journey until last week. Or more precisely, at the peak time of the Lion’s Gate Portal, 8th August, not that I realised that till after. 
I was preparing for my party at the weekend, and very mindful of my residency following a week later,  so I downloaded a bunch of tunes that have been following me around for a while. When I plugged in my decks I realised I had a problem with my crossfader…. Hmmmm .. so now I had to work with the channels, running out of time to seriously work on the sculpting of any set, I threw all the tunes I had just bought, plus several that I wanted to play again, and hit record and played. 
What happened, was for me, magical and when I stopped,  I realised I had been going for 3 hours.  I  had, what I term,  been  “free falling “ into the music and into the story of this set, no planning, no prep, no practise.  It was beautiful, I felt completely free.. and as soon as I stopped recording, I knew this was “Orbes De La Nuit” , finally,  it had found its roots and anchor. 
It wasn’t till later, I realised it was the 8/8 portal and lead up to the full moon.  That made the experience even more magical.

Orbes De La Nuit - The Ether Sessions 9 / Subcode Residency 16.08.2025

Vickie began mixing vinyl in the late '90s purely for the love of music. After years of balancing DJing with raising her daughter, supported by friends / family she made the leap to digital around eight years ago and began recording and sharing her sets on Mixcloud and Soundcloud.
A classically trained musician, Vickie was drawn from orchestras to the dance floor by the hypnotic pull of a four-to-the-floor beat. Her mixes are deeply personal and emotionally driven, inspired by anything that resonates with her soul. She blends natural musicality with storytelling, crafting immersive journeys through sound.
Vickie has featured on stations like Xbeat and BNB London Radio, performed at events including Audio Tek, Phunkt, and Subcode, and contributed to Amber Long's Lia Series. She also holds a monthly residency on Subcode Radio, with exciting gigs and guest mixes lined up.
Her classical background enriches her creativity, allowing her to build unique, expressive sets that take listeners on unforgettable journeys—each mix telling its own compelling story.
