Beyond The Struttopshere is a sonic collaboration between two London-based DJs channelling their considerable musical production experience and boundless love of cosmic chugging dark disco. Their debut EP ‘New Frontier’ was released on Gouranga Music in late 2020 and found much acclaim among Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston’s A Love From Outer Space online fraternity, also appearing on Juan Mclean’s (DFA Records) contribution to Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space mix series. This propelled the duo to new heights, leading to highly lauded releases on esteemed labels including Mélopée Records, Astrolead Recordings, Discolypso, In Dark We Trust, Emerald & Doreen and X-PRESSINGS. Beyond The Struttosphere’s music is now making sonic reverberations around the globe, hitting the dancefloors of Burning Man, House of Yes NYC, ADE and Sisyphos Berlin, and notching up remixes from notable legends of the scene: Rebolledo, Rigopolar, Vongold, Badknife, James Rod, Roliva, K-Effect and Mufti. The cosmonauts are always immersed in the studio, working on new material, with live guitar now a mainstay of their productions. Their trademark sound combines fat chugging basslines with reverbed guitar riffs, syncopated arpeggiators, cosmic synths, vintage vocal samples, Italo drum fills and psychedelic 303 sequences.
