Brighton based 2econd Class Citizen makes folk music for the digital age. Sometimes psychedelic, often complex and always moving, his sound is hard to define but easy to fall in love with. 

With a series of critically acclaimed releases garnering praise from luminaries such as Ninja Tune legend DJ Food (who went so far as to invite him to collaborate on a track for his own album),  2econd Class Citizen’s music has long been astounding listeners in all corners of the globe. Cementing the affection of his loyal following through frequent European Tours and remixes for artists such as The Herbaliser, Dj Food & Dday One. His new record A Hall of Mirrors, on Dday One’s US label Content Records, is his most accomplished music to date… 

Produced and recorded in the disparate locations of his hometown of Brighton (UK) and Innsbruck (Austria), it features collaborations with a succession of underground heroes such as Mykah 9 (Freestyle Fellowship),  Canadian singer Graciellita and Bobbie Watson from psych folk legends Comus. In addition it features an array of talented Austrian and Uk musicians on Piano, Cello, Violin and guitar… 
The album builds on his trademark sound - lush instrumentation, dusty break-beats and shimmering melodies that veer from ethereal to menacing with surprising deftness. 

A Hall of Mirrors is the latest instalment in a distinguished career spanning over a decade. Highlights include his astonishing debut album A World Without, released on DJ Scientist’s Equinox Records (Berlin) featuring singer/songwriter Ceschi Ramos from the US and rapper/wordsmith James Reindeer. A Gate-fold 12” vinyl release of his second album The Small Minority followed, and an array of EP’s, limited edition vinyl postcards and digital releases such as his ongoing “Old Folk Wine” series of psych-folk re edits. 

In his live sets 2econd Class Citizen recreates the complexity and depth of orchestration he has become known for, using sound editing software, live drumming and scratching to keep a strong improvisational aspect, and often embellishing performances with the introduction of guest musicians and vocalists. 

In addition to frequent European Tours with the likes of Ceschi, Glen Porter & Buddy Peace he has performed at festivals including Glastonbury and Soundwave (Croatia), sharing stages with the likes of Hidden Orchestra, Buck 65, B Dolan, Dj Food, Loka, Dosh, The Q4, Gong and many more.


Hailing from the city of South Gate, California nested within southeast Los Angeles county, We Should Join Forces (WSJF) is a band attempting to help throw loud, energetic, rock back into the fold in a world where synthesizers are starting to rule. How? By going back to basics with loud, aggressive guitar, explosive drums and raw vocals. But really, we want to make music, play shows and have a good time.

Eleven Willows: limited edition releases of psychedelic folk and allied sound-forms from around the world.

Our albums are released on glass-mastered CDs in numbered, limited editions of 100, although in some instances and with the artists' consent, we will release further editions. None of the artists are signed to Eleven Willows - they have either been invited to work with us or have got in touch with us themselves because our approach is in alignment with their own. In fact, in the traditional sense, this is not really a record label - it's essentially a psychedelic folk private press. None of the releases have been selected on the basis of commercial considerations. The only questions we ask are "does the recording sound like an Eleven Willows album?" and "do we like it?"

All artwork is created in collaboration with the musicians. The series is housed in handmade card gate-fold sleeves manufactured for us by Conifer Handmades of Mumbai, India. The artwork and inserts are risograph-printed by MARC in Manchester, England on recycled paper using soya inks.

The first four releases are due later in 2013.
