Similarly, we make promises we can't deliver, but Jesus approaches us with the comfort and encouragement of the Holy Spirit, 'the Paraclete.' إلهنا بلاد الحكمة أين موضعها؟ أين آثار طريقها؟ مَنْ يعبر البحر ويشتريها بذهب نقي؟ مَنْ يصعد فوق السحاب وينزلها؟ الإنسان الفاني لا يعرف طريقها، انها منسية من كل البشر، انها مختفية عن الملائكة. الذين يحصلون عليها ينالون نعمة، والذين يبغضونها يحبون الموت، انها ابهى من الشمس وكل الكواكب. انها نور الآب كائنة معه منذ الأزل.

الحكمة كائنة منذ القدم وهي تجدِّد الجميع وتدخل كل زمان إلى نفوس الأبرار. هي أثمن من اللآلئ هي أثمن من كل  كرامة وكل كرامة لا تساويها. لها المشورة والقدرة والمعرفة. بها يملك الملوك، بها يُكرَّم العظماء وبها يملك الرؤساء الأرض. الحكمة تحب الذين يحبونها وتحفظ الذين يحفظونها الذين يطلبونها يجدون نعمة.

تتمشى الحكمة  في طريق العدل، تتحرك في سبيل الحق لتهب الذين يعرفونها غنى وتملأ خزائنهم فرحاً. وهبها الله لأبينا يعقوب ثم ظهرت على الأرض ومشت كإنسان. هوذا قد بنت الحكمة لها بيتاً، أسست أعمدتها السبعة. ذبحت ذبائحها، سكبت خمرها، وأعدت مائدتها. 

بيتها هو الكنيسة الجامعة الرسولية وأعمدتها السبعة هي أسرار الله المحيية. أرسلت الحكمة عبيدها ينادون على الدوام قائلين: "مَنْ كان بسيطاً فليأت إليَّ." وتقول لناقص الفهم: "هلموا كلوا من خبزي وإشربوا من دمي. أتركوا الجهالة عنكم فتحيوا. الحكمة هي مخلصنا يسوع المسيح الذي فدانا بذبيحة جسده، وإشترانا بسفك دمه، وإختارنا لملكوته الأبدي.

 نسألك يا سيدنا أن تعطينا أن نجد فيك وحدك الحكمة. أن تقبل هذه الذبيحة من إيدينا أن تقبل منا أصوامنا وصلواتنا. لكي بدالة البنين نصرخ إليك يا أبانا السماوي قائلين: "يا أبانا الذي في السموات...

Many will recognize this tune, beautifully woven into the finale song "When You Believe" from The Prince of Egypt film, as the children of Israel make their triumphant exodus from Egypt after so many years of slavery and brokenness. I wanted to share the beauty of this song of praise in English, while also savoring the words of joy and salvation as they were originally sung in their native language!
